I thought Our Dark Duet would be on the list. I read the Monsters of Verity series this year and is one of my fav of all time... and I'm finishing the last book of the Shades of Magic Trilogy and also one of my fav!! Schwab is one of my fav authors and also one of my auto-buy authors.

I read so many good books this year I can’t pick just one favorite! If I had to pick two, probably The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black and Thick as Thieves by Megan Whalen Turner! Also btw I’ve loved the thief series for years and I’m so glad that you’re reading and talking about it! More people need to read that series it’s so under appreciated!

Based on your review of the book "The Thief" on 12/30/17 when I first watched it, I knew I had to read it too.....I found and read a simple chapter and immediately ordered my copy......it is really good.....I wish I had ordered all the books in the series! I will very soon......side note - I have been watching your channel for ages and I enjoy all your videos......you have such a wonderfully fun personality!

Favorites included: The Last Magician, Unwind, If We Were Villains, Dramatically Ever After, A Conjuring of Light, For Darkness Shows the Stars, And the first three books to the Lincoln Rhyme books. A bit of an eclectic list, but it was a good year with lots of variety (for me). and I'm happy with that.

I haven't read much fantasy lately (except Lord of the Rings), but damn, after watching this video I really want to pick up some more fantasy again! Actually never heard of the Girl of Fire and Thorns before, but it sounds so cool! I hope you'll read more amazing (fantasy) books in 2018!

I finally got ADSOM after hearing you rave about the series a couple times. I bought the collector's edition and I'm enjoying it (...but I can't stand Lila lol). I wasn't planning on continuing once I reach the end, but the last minute of this video has me rethinking that choice. Ohh what to do? I also got the first two books in THE QUEEN'S THIEF series because of your recommendation and I'm looking forward to it.

A great video!! I like how you explain the main plot without giving spoilers. I am new to fantasy, I will try your recommendations. My favorite books this year was Harry Potter series which I read this year for the first time and the Handmaid's Tale.

I read 105 books this year (although a lot of those were manga) but I think my favorite was Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. It really struck me deep and I loved it. Great vid! I really need to read more fantasy!

My favourite book this year was definitely "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. Some of my other favourites were "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas, "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini and "All the Light we Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. These were all amazing books and my best reads, but there was just something about the Book Thief that made it my top read of 2017!

I loved the Fate Of The Tearling as well! It made my list too which I will be posting during this next week! :D Always love this time of year and all the bookish wrap-ups that come with it

I may have said this before, but you really need to read a series called Lockwood and Co. by Jonathan Stroud. It's a middle grade series that doesn't act like a middle grade series. It's about three teens (14-16 years old) who hunt ghosts because they plague the UK. I love it! And you could binge read it if you wanted to because the series is done. I finished the last book this year (favorite book of the year) and boy, it was amazing! Please read it this year. It needs more love on BookTube!

I read of tower of dawn last year and at first I didn't want to read it because it was about chaol and I wasn't a big fan of him but after finishing the book I fell in love with him because he redeemed himself and knew I wrong he did in his past so now I'm basically fangirling over him lol. Strange the dreamer is on my tbr list so hopefully I get to read it this year as it looks really good and has had so many great reviews.

I have read Strange the Dreamer because of you and while it was really good, it was so slow in the beginning that it didn’t become my favorite. But I’m excited for The Muse of Nightmares! My favorites are Monsters of Verity duology, The Grisha trilogy, Simon vs. The Homo-Sapiens Agenda, The Upside of Unrequited, We Were Liars, All the Bright Places, Before I Fall, The Star-Touched Queen duology, The Zodiac series, and of course Harry Potter. My first time reading Harry Potter this year
