I keep going back to IT CC and trying it and each time I hate it. I am the minority on this. My new fav is Lancome Foundation Stick. It is so easy to use. Learned about it on this channel.

Hello Lisa, I found your channel yesterday and I want to thank you for all the information.im 61 and I have a lot of allergies with makeup. I discovered Bare Minerals, but I'm not in love! Do you have any experience with women and allergic reactions to makeup? My big pet peeve is when my foundation transfers onto my clothes, ugh...I am a minimalist when it comes to make up, but your video yesterday spoke about women not wearing enough, and using the right products that don't make you look made up! I enjoyed this video. I have some hypertension/ sun spots on my cheeks and always look for a full coverage foundation. One of my favorites is the Covergirl Olay cream foundation, it's similar to the KVD. Gives good quick coverage applied with a brush.

I also have some hyperpigmentation and have found that the Estée Lauder double wear is great for coverage. I also like ABH and use the tarte concealer to add extra coverage. Another good one is shiseido sychro skin foundation.

I guess I have focused more on hydrating foundations than coverage levels. I’ve tried so many times to use the It Cosmetics CC cream foundation but it just looks heavy and artificial on me. Maybe (since I’ve spent the money on it) I need to try your method of applying it to see if it looks more natural. Right now I’m using the Tarte Hydromaniac foundation and liking it for hydration and finish. The Fenty foundation looks really promising too.

Yes if I just put that cc cream direct on my face it would be horrible. I definitely freshly moisturize and apply lightly! If you already own, it’s good to experiment to see if you can make it work and don’t just waste it and throw it away

I use the IT cosmetics CC cream. The best way to make it look the best I found is to apply with fingers all over. Then take a damp beauty blender and lightly bounce it over after using the fingers first. It doesn't take away coverage this way and it really doesn't look heavy but gives good coverage.

Great video! New subbie👋. I am thinking of buying the ABH Luminous foundation u showed (it looked beautiful on ur skin) but am wondering if u used a sunscreen under it? I’m not a fan of using separate sunscreen which is why I hv been using IT CC cream (the recipe be you showed in this video as well).

I hv tried a number of sunscreens n moisturizer but they leave my skin too dewy/shiny looking. Btw, I purchased the ABH Luminose foundation yesterday n I tried it this morning n I love it! It helped with the appearance of my pores n gave good coverage. I love tht it seems to dry down to a powdery type feeling. I don't have a video but it's a great idea for one. I'm not sure where you purchase your makeup, but I suggest bringing a small mirror, going to a Sephora if you have in your area and select a brand that has 40 - 50 shades and then swatching a few on your jawline and go outside and analyze (you'll get your steps in, lol). And do as many times as you need until you like the match. Then look up the shade description and hopefully it will be like Light with Pink Undertones, or Fair with neutral undertones, and then you can use that as a starting point with other brands, even drugstore when you can't swatch. You want it to disappear into your jawline when swatched.

They don’t give samples anymore? I had no idea! I was in 360, I remember because I exchanged 3 times, lol. My skin times changes all the time as I go back and forth between Fl and AZ so I don’t have a “regular shade anymore…I usually have to adjust a little depending on how whether I’m walking in morning or afternoon in the sun! Have you ever tried tretinoin (retin A). You skin sounds like my daughters and when she finally used consistently, after 6 months it faded her scars (we were considering laser before they faded) and reduced her oil. She still has the flushed cheeks but its so much easier to work with just one issue!

It was from Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette (though sometimes I think you can use any of her rose gold palettes and you can't tell difference, lol). It's the middle shade in Date all over lid and crease and then the lightest Dream shade just in center of lid for shimmer. shop-links.co/cfHLSpxkZ3w. You know, I have a patch on both cheeks that is my natural skin tone, but since my melasma is all around it, they are 2 light spots on my cheeks...I have not found a great way to cover and look skin like. I can use a heavier concealer to even out the tone somewhat, but if I go to heavy or dark, it looks cakey. I would just try and use concealer that's your natural skintone and put on under your foundation and see how that looks. You may only be able to get it closer, not the same!

Glad I watched this again!!😎. I'm now looking for the older video, in which you compared ELauder DW to a Lancome foundation. In the comment section of it, people had invaluable suggestions for mixing foundations, and how to use ELauder DW that way. in case it did not work for me, since I had just gotten my first bottle of that. Many people said it was a :good mixer: and could help other foundations with staying power and preventing transfer, and prevent early death of the weaker foundation,🤗 i have 2 suggestions for videos but you probably already have way more than you need, true? Thanks for all of your efforts🌴🤹‍♀️🌹

@@LisaMonique yes! I’m 47, have a bit of melasma and love this foundation. There is a powder which is a bit too matte, so for evening event, the Amazon clay foundation works. Feels light too but can build up coverage.

I have a huge age / sun spot on my cheek and cant find ANY foundation to cover it ! Its started quite smsll and now it has grown and look like someone has painted a brown stain on my face ! I use correctors of all types but it still shows theu! All these foundations ur showing I dont think will cover it

There are some heavier foundations, these are my more medium ones that still show skin and some shading. I'll have to do a FULL coverage foundation video...The KVD Apple Balm does go full coverage but it's a cream foundation and it's easier to wipe off it you don't set it and keep your hands away from your face (hard for me to do, lol.)

Never going to buy a high price fdtn, only d/s for me. I use the NYX Born to Glow with a touch of Maybelline brightening concealer on my one fading age spot. Sometimes also the No 7 Triple Action Serum Foundation as well. Why is my my age spot fading? Bc I fast and dry fast for over 8 yrs and I too live in a very sunny climate, always dark glasses and a hat on me, even when I go without makeup which is pretty often. Thx Lisa Monique!! ~~Chanel

What is dry fast? I usually wear the lifeguard white sunscreen over my nose and upper cheeks. It’s not pretty, but it’s better than anything else. Our sand is so white, that it reflects up under a hat when walking, I’ve been trying to walk 4 miles a day since last May. And I have always tanned fast with my Asian skin. I guess I could stay off the beach but then what’s the point of having a condo on the beach LOL. . It’s a balance!! I used to have just 2 age spots but I didn’t realize chemical peels can be bad for darker skin tones, and it gave me melasma 😩.

@@LisaMonique I know what u mean re the sun shining up at us from the sidewalk, I really hate the sun and the heat in SoCal. I didnt know that either about peels, I use a cheap glycolic acid peel pad to help with the one but prolly not often enough lol. Dry Fasting is going without food or any liquid at all (like coffee that everyone in the US lives on, hate that stuff lol). I'm going to have a channel up very soon on all things fasting, to be named Fasting Star Chanel...waiting and waiting on a refurbed laptop to do it, an old friend bought it for me and the screwups by FedEx, UPS and Best Buy have been astounding. But soon... I also did not know you are Asian, you dont 'look' it, no offense by any means. Where are you from Lisa? My ancestry is Portuguese with black Irish thrown in, so I pass the old one drop rule lol, but I look white. Sent pics to MaryEllen and she sd I am beautiful, she's such a love. They usually have a much much much better shade selection, both in number of offering (40-50 vs 12-20) and what they stock. As you get into darker or even just medium tone shades, many drugstore shades aren’t even at the drugstore!! They only carry first 8 shades, it’s easier for me to buy those I can exchange to get perfect match.

It definitely was the thickest and had to be "figured out" how to make it work on my skin. If you haven't tried the ABH, I would get a sample!! 💕

I usually use a moisturizer for a primer, they seem to work really well on my skin and make it look like skin. Charlotte Tilbury magic cream is my favorite but I don’t use it every time because it’s the most expensive LOL. I have been using Embiolysse for the past month again, I have used it for years, I am probably on my fourth tube

I am currently using the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation for Normal to Dry Skin. Even though I skew more towards normal to oily, it does well - if applied lightly. I do want something even lighter for days when I do not want a full face of makeup. Such as when doing something around the house or being athletic. I am interested in trying the Fenty, which I personally thought looked the best on you! 😎 I plan to give the Ordinary a try too. We ought to be able to find a good face color for less than $30! We should be able to, but most drugstore brands are limited in shade ranges, very frustrating!! I'd go for just a tinted moisturizer for the light days, though if it's got a lot of sunscreen, it makes my face even shinier!!!

Lisa Monique Beauty ... Maybelline has increased their range of colors, at least in the downtown CVS here, carrying practically every shade imaginable for deeper skin tones, much more so than Walmart! That said, a non-drugstore brand will most likely want to carry a pretty good range of shades as you have pointed out. The skincare additives are probably what is driving the increasing prices! I am already using serums, moisturizers, oils and so on. I just want a good, basic foundation! Too many additives can lead to skin irritation! Before I even began using serums, a few well recognized brands led me to break out! A brand name does not necessarily mean it is the best product for some of us. I am more willing to spend on the skincare. If our skin is as we would like it to be, makeup just brings out the pretty! LOL! And it need not be excessive! I am glad I ran across you.
