i just realized something abt the suitcase and akdjejjfhejfnfnejrnr the set designer kept most of the set as the blocks to continue with the idea of “falsetto”; there, but not quite mature/real yet. as the show progresses, the hospital set comes in and is realistic to show the harshness of death and reality. the suitcase isn’t a block; it’s a worn-down, real object. it’s one of the first pieces to be realistic, and it comes in for their breakup. it’s the first taste of reality for the falsettos. the same goes for the “making a home” pieces; trina and mendel are maturing and coming into the adult reality.

I enjoy that almost all of this is Whizzer. But seriously, My eyes are always drawn to Andrew because he's so damn flamboyant and TALL.

So I just realized how (much more) amazing Stephanie J. Block is at acting. I've seen this show live and the filmed version, and I just noticed in the scene at 11:45, she is staring at Marvin ripping her wedding invitation with a look that is so sad, hurt, but not surprised, and she even flinches a bit. Then at 12:04, after Whizzer says he doesn't love Marvin, when the camera pans to her, she lets out a breath- like she KNOWS what's going to happen- how Marvin will react and is resigned to it. It absolutely took my breath away. Stephanie is such a brilliant Trina!

I do not remember his name, but the kid who plays Jason fucking nailed it. The Falsettos looks like a pretty difficult play, with nonstop songs and it really needs perfect timing or everything fails. He did a great job, despite being a kid! And also, he does just have a really good voice!
