Swiss made extreme quality. This smaller version of the Schaublin 65 and 70 was produced to more stringent requirements of accuracy than its bigger brothers.

I want it. It's a tiny machinists lathe. I have a Levin watchmaker lathe with the collet accepting tailstock. It's awesome but this is another level.

Boy! That's beautiful. I would love to have something like that. Many projects I don't even bother with because I don't have the right tools.

Niels you should name this channel the Teaser Channel, you have such great machines like this lathe in the video, you take really good care of your items from what the video shares. Thank you so much for sharing.

I don't blame you for falling in love. I could as well. I have several lathes myself. I was supposed to sell some but thus far I am just collecting them. ;-) All the best, Sean

Seeing the scuff marks that flaked the paint off on this lathe I opted to oil blacken the parts of my lathe when I built it in 1964 and the oil blacking is still intact today without any rust on the surfaces......when oil is blackened it goes to a varnish hard coating that is impossible to wear off and can only be removed mechanically.

Looks like Favorite Model No 2. Manufactured by Golay-Burchel of Lausanne, Switzerland. Most likely 1951 or 1952. Really sweet. There is a bit of rust here and there, but everything can be probably fixes with some care and time. :) Lets just mention that the Golay-Burchel catalog of accessories for Model No 1 and No 2, was 52 pages long. And another catalog of other tools, metrology tools, etc, was 325 pages. It has some reminescens to Schaublin 70, and maybe even some commonalities. Did Golay-Burchel licensed some of the patents from Schaublin? Did bed accessories were interchenchable? From what I have read about specs, spindle runout, play were 0.005mm, but routinly half of that. Other things like paralelism, flatness, cross slide, concentricity with tail stock were 0.01mm, and routingly also half of that or better.

There will come a time when I will want to purchase a lathe for my own watch-repair hobby. When that happens I will need just a bit more input than a picture show.
