If I can add on to all the Mia love in the video- the fact that she does show a soft side once in a while is welcome as for me she is not solely blinded by her revenge. Which is refreshing. I think that stand out badass ladies is Kira from Mars! she had such great emotional strength and grit. which I think is just as good as physical strength. Mama Imelda from the recent movie Coco, because she is such a badass for making a life out of sour lemons. and of course Shouko from A Silent Voice- she endured such emotional trauma and seeing her positive attitude and inner fire to fight is inspiring.

I think, until now my favorite female characters are: also Kady; Aelin and Elide from Throne of Glass, Mor from ACoTaR, Inej from Six of Crows, Ayra from Game of Thrones and Lila from A darker Shade of Magic. I certainly have to read Nevernight soon. I'm so ready for it!😀

You said you were going to talk about 2 HP characters and obviously one was going to be Hermione, but I was hoping so much that the second one would be McGonagall AND IT IS! Honestly I feel like she doesn't get talked about nearly enough! (At least from videos and posts that I've seen.)

Hermione Granger was the first fictional character I could really identity with, and that meant a lot to me. A friend of mine would actually call me 'Hermione' as a joke because she thought I was so much like her and that made me so happy! I'm very grateful to have had these amazing female character to grow up with

My favourite fictional lady must be the kick ass pirate Alosa from Daughter of the Pirate King. Such a sassy woman!

Molly Weasley (HP) Bridget Jones (duuh..) Karou (Daughter of Smoke and Bone) Brienne of Tarth! (ASOIAF) George R.R. MARTIN really writes amazing female characters. They are well written, fleshed out, flawed and are distinct. I'm reading Feast for Crows right now and there are many really good female characters and perspectives in it, highly recommend!

I agree with every one you list (minus one just because I haven’t read the book 😂) other favourites of mine would be Claire from Outlander, Lila Bard from A Darker Shade of Magic, Star from The Hate U Give, Nina and Inej from Six of Crows, Eliza from Eliza and her Monsters, etc. I’m going to stop there lol

Namely, Kate Daniels, from the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews; Anita Blake, from the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton; Jane Yellowrock, from the Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter; Nell Ingram from the Soulwood series, also by Faith Hunter; Merry Gentry, from the Merry Gentry series, also by Laurell K. Hamilton; Dina Demille, from the Innkeeper Chronicles, also by Ilona Andrews; Rachel Morgan, from the Hollows series by Kim Harrison; and more! (But these ladies are perhaps my MOST favorites.) 😄❤

Great choices! 100% agree with all of them. And after reading the first two books in the Themis Files, I'd add Kara and Rose. Also Libby Gant from Ice Station and Area 7 by Matthew Reilly.

I like Reyna and Thalia from PJO and Hoo. Hermione and McGonagall. Alex Fierro. Emma Carstairs, Cristina, Isabelle, and basically every female shadowhunter. Cress, Scarlet, Winter, Iko, and Cinder. Tana and Pearl. and so many others

When you're a week behind on your KZfaq subscriptions and you think, "It's definitely not International Women's Day. But I'm always down for some kickass females." I think mine would have to be Lyra from Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. Not only is it my favourite trilogy of all time but also she's a flawed but good character, which is my favourite kind. And even though she ends up with a strong male character, she's still definitely the one calling the shots :D

I'm currently reading Grimspace by Ann Agguire and OMG Sirantha Jax (the female protagonist) is AMAZING!! She's kickass and so funny! Even when she's tough and badass she's also scared, and that really makes her realistic and human and I LOVE HER! (And she's also 30 years old, but totally acts like 23)
