Also he’s coming of age, and there are so many younger fresh and good looking males that are looking for great scripts and an opportunity. The new younger actors are pushing 40 and over 40 actors away from good scripts. Have you seen The Alchemy of the Souls? The male lead is under 25, and he’s an excellent versatile actor that will be in the industry for a while. He’s also very good looking. There are so many more like him awaiting or have tapped into that stardom. It’s fierce for scripts once these younger actors are cast as male leads. After they leave and return from military duty, some can enter back into that stardom, and then some can’t because while they were away other younger males have taken their opportunities. I just hope JCW can hang in there another 10 years as a male lead, but it’s going to be extremely hard. But, we shall see.😊. Notice, males in SK don’t really get good scripts as leads after 50-55. They industry there knows this. That’s why they try to attain vast stardom their 20s and 30s. Once they reach 40 plus it’s less and less scripts for the male leads we have grown to watch as male leads. Normally, this is when they are decide to get married and have families. Especially, the female actors.

If they happen to be just flower boy leads, of course...no one is interested once they get old. The romcoms are trash...we watch them because its a guilty pleasure but its no good cinema. The alchemy of souls guy IS NOT CONSIDERED PRETTY by current korean beauty standards . He is truly talented though and has a lot of charisma. That's why he is getting scripts As for pretty privilege, Cha Eun Woo has that. He has been ruining roles since forever with his bland acting...he might be a good guy in real life but I have never seen a more bad actor stealing so many roles from deserving struggling actors. My fav actor remains... HOMETOWN CHA CHA CHA LEAD with his years of theatre experience which can be seen easily in his superior acting talent...and among the new boys... the appa from twinkling watermelon.
