faytech managing founder Arne Weber gives a full faytech Shenzhen factory tour, giving insights about what it is like living ten years in China, and what the future plans of faytech are. Besides this, this video features a closer look at some of the most promising products of faytech, such as the interactive shopping cart to be presented first time in 2020 at the NRF 2020 conference, the interactive bathroom mirror and the new i5-touchscreen PC series too.
faytech has grown in the last ten years from a small assembly company located in Shenzhen, China, to a global industrial touchscreen specialist. You can notice faytech's growth since this is the fourth time I film at the factory since 2013 here:

Today, in China, more than 300 employees work in two faytech locations, Suining and Shenzhen in which faytech has its own R&D, Sales&Marketing and Purchasing departments, as well as its world leading optical bonding facility and a small quantity project and product assembly. The mass production, including its own case manufacturing is now happening in Suining.

Amazing what they can do using 10 year old CAD software. Pro-Engineer 5.0. At least Altium 19.0.10 is being used, surprised that it works on Windows 7. Great work! The "activate windows" was funny to see in the outdoor environment testing.

is it just me or is it that wintergatan guy? - he looks and sounds so similar =D also: impressive how the guide completely ignore the questions of the dude behind the cam - I already would had tilted many times after he ignored me for the 2nd time

Charbax asks lots of questions very quickly all the time. People he interview don’t want to be rude, but they don’t want to change subject too quickly.

He was very short at answering questions. The self service scanning shopping solution we have had since the 90's and is now common place within Waitrose, ASDA and Tesco. It was initially created by IBM for Safeway but is now sold by Zebra. Search for 'Zebra Personal Shopping Solution'. You can also scan using a App. Focus on what you do best is my suggestion. Entrepreneurs tend to stray!

This smart shopping cart is way better than the Zebra.. faytech focuses on doing the touchscreen system, another company partners with them on implementing the shopping cart with the right software and everything. The Butterfly MX intercom system is for example a huge success and based on faytech technology. They have I think many other examples like that. This smart shopping cart can I think basically turn every supermarket into a "walk out shopping" solution, the shopping cart includes camera and weighting which provides a full anti-theft and auto anti-mistake in scanning items automated shopping experience. Much cheaper than the way Amazon is doing their walk out shopping system. No check-outs needed, and also every user getting a more personalized shopping experience with personalized pricing, personalized shopping lists, recipies and etc. You need something more significant than a Zebra, I think.

@@charbax we can always debate the measure of 'better' but I can only go on what I already use. While shoplifting was always the clear blocker for this technology the trend in the UK anyway has been to put customer service over worries about theft. There are even self service checkouts here that have no scales at all. The Waitrose App allows you to scan and pay for the goods while you walk around the store and then 'walk out'. So while Amazon gets the news headlines, the supermarkets have been on this journey for the last 20 years. We, the Engineers, always want the perfect solution, but a low cost mobile App, or a simple scanner seems to do the job today.

@@oninbridders I've used the Zebra's in my Migros supermarkets in Switzerland for some years too. But I think there is ample range for improvement. The Zebra or mobile phone scanning is not optimal not even close. Walk out shopping is going to be absolutely huge, this faytech shopping cart is something I haven't seen anywhere else. You need a larger touch sceen, you need the whole shopping cart to be smart, it's the only way to actually rival the kind of amazing stuff Amazon has been showing off at some demo stores around the USA. The solution faytech shows here seems to me to be way cheaper and easier, it turns any supermarket into a walk out shopping experience, no need to install the multi-million dollars worth of cameras, sensors and AI and whatnot that is required to make that Amazon walk out shopping experience work.

Thanks for the discussion! Always difficult to find the right focus-but here we feel we are a real part of the success. Before there were too many HW supplier and the problems were put always on the other-so we overtook full HW responsibility and we feel that was good. From our knowledge, this is the only smart shopping cart project in the Western World where the business case works. But for sure, happy to learn more!
