FBI says three bodies were found in Mexico after disappearance of American and two Australians

An American and two Australian brothers had gone to Mexico for a surfing vacation and hadn't been heard from for almost a week. Mexican authorities say they have detained three people and have found one of the missing men's cell phones and a burned-out vehicle matching the one the men were last seen in. NBC News' Blayne Alexander reports.

As a general rule, don't vacation in places that people are running away from. It's like running into a burning building. A fence around a resort isn't really going to protect you. Not even a police officer can.

I'm also from Perth 🇦🇺 ..one of the boys was a champion lacrosse player and had represented Australia i believe, the other,a doctor who worked in Victoriabut graduated here from Notre Dame ..its been headline news here since the story broke ... So many I know had already assumed the worst, Mexico has such a reputation for this..back in 2015 two other West Australian surfers were also murdered there in similar circumstances.... It's utterly horrific.also for the US family of their friend who was murdered alongside them. Such a senseless waste of such vital young lives..💔🇦🇺💔

This is not the ending I wanted but it is what I expected. There are reasons for travel advisories. If the US says you shouldn't travel to Baja because of kidnapping and murder please let's listen. It's a reason why people are fleeing these areas and we're paying to go there.

Think you got the travel directions mixed up, the three WENT INTO mexico, the BAD GUYS didn't sneek into the US. If this happened on US soil it might not have made a blip on the national media. 20K murders happen in the US every year, not all get this type of coverage. Americans will learn eventually. If you are going to vacation in Mexico, stick to the resorts as the cartels don't mess with those. That's how they make they money, they own them. If you go off the beaten path for adventure, adventure will find you. Sad for the parents.

We use to go once a year to the resorts, but we haven’t done it since 2020 bc of all the travel advisories. My husband and I have been to a lot of different places all over and I really enjoyed my vacations there but now I don’t know that we will ever go back.

God bless you. I lost my son 8 months ago. He was depressed and drank alot and fell through the glass table we just gave him and bled out. My daughter found him on the bed where he passed out from blood loss. All he wanted to do was see his kids; But everytime she'd tell us to come over, the cops were waiting. Thankfully, her new man told the cops what she was doing and she got a fine, but of course it made it worse for us to see them. They miss they're daddy though. They're 19 ❤17 and15 now, and they come to see us; I Just wish they could've saw him before the incident.😳.........OOPS...... 🤐😬🤐....sorry for the book Ma'am; And for your loss as well. ❤enjoy your Evening ❤

The Mexican government is so slack, this keeps happening under their noses. I feel sick to the stomach for that poor mum in Perth. How can she ever have a good life now. Same thing happened to a couple of Aussie surfers in 2015, best stick to Australian waters.

The US goverment issues these warnings all the time and thier worth heeding , i sincerely pray for thier souls and family , from the minute i heard they went missing i was overcome with a sick gut already fearing the worst senario due to the terrable thinhs that happen in that area , its very documented the kidnappings its just a horrible place beuitiful but deadly , may all those murdered find thier eternal rest and the wicked punished .

It's horrible the young fellers enjoying their lives having fun, and demons had to cross their path. Praying for their families through this tragic time. I myself when visiting relatives deep inside Mexico had thoughts of being kidnapped and bad things happening. It's horrible you can't even mind your own building with trouble being a possibility crossing your path. You just have to pray everyday and live life, and be very alert of your surroundings.
