i didnt see the texture in blender, i think its because i colored the parts instead of giving them a texture unless coloring the parts is the same as giving it a texture

Just try to play with rendering modes and shaders. If you have a problem with 2 sided materials (for example yo have a plane & from the bottom it's transparent) you can use Double Sided Shaders from AssetStore. It's free: assetstore.unity.com/packages/vfx/shaders/double-sided-shaders-23087

Thanks for the tutorial... But when I add a rigid body component to the character, he isn't falling down due to gravity. But instead, he is slowly moving up. And the idle animation is on.

For me the fbx file/avatar still has no textures after clicking Material Preview. It just turns white after that. Keep in mind, the fbx file was from Blender already & I tried to export it to Unity & it came out all grey/no textures, & now i try your tutorial to fix & obviously, to no avail. Please help me. Idk what is wrong :(

If its blank in blender, the textures are probably not included in the FBX file. If you textured the model before in blender, make sure to export the textures as well!

Btw if you do this correctly you wont have to do the extra step of exporting the texture itself and can simply use unitys tools to extract the textures directly from the FBX files.

You can do the exact same thing for all textures and make one material for each texture and apply it either to a prefab (drag it to the part that should have the texture) or to the model directly in the inspector. You have to change the material import mode, but I cant recall what its name was from the top of my head right now.

If your map is just a mesh with textures I think it should work the exact same way. If you tell me what exactly youre using or trying to do I could try it out and make another video for you :D

They have a system for importing them from the model directly and its been working a lot better recently, but still doesnt work a lot of times or breaks some textures. Really strange.

Try extracting materials and textures in unity directly, maybe it will work with your model.

I found that it is working a lot better now when exporting the textures in Unity directly but yeah, its still an issue. Takes time and effort that could be avoided if it would work right.

Its fucking unfortunate my PC is bugged and is setting any photo I make or download to this bizarre format that cannot be opened even though I reset the default photo viewer a thousand times through the CMD and framework. A WHOPPING 967 gigabytes, several versions of unity required to be downloaded for this bullshit just for it to be too redundant to properly import a texture, LAUGHABLY PATHETIC!
