One thing that all bong directors have: all are inspired by Satyajit Ray's movies. You cannot end a conversion without saying Ray's name. Thanks to you, Mrs. Chopra for bringing them together.

Dibakar 's ' Khosla ka Ghosla ' is arguably the best ever bolywood movie ever in that genre (comedy /satire). Same can be said about Sujoy' s 'Kahani' in 'Thriller' genre.

Sensibility of these directors is unmatched and ofcourse the humour of Bengali language.

Despite being a Delhite Dibakar seems to be the most Bengali fellow in this adda, a former copywriter too, has the gift of the gab.

A perfect intellectual adda... and Dibakar Banerjee is too knowledgeable and brilliant craftsman

Being a bong from otherside of Bengal (Bangladesh), it is striking how similarly feel about Ray's work, Sharadindu's Byomkesh and food and other detail stuff with these craftsman. The richness of literature and everything. I felt the same way about Bansali's Devdas as Dibakar da told. But great conversation.

I really enjoyed this adda. I am not Bengali but I wish you will make another one with all the Bengali in bollywood including actors, musicians also. Dibakar is awesome, he seems like a natural Bengali intellectual person.

Ironically, the Bengali sensibility that the host speaks of here was noticed strongly in a film not directed by a Bangali. It was Lootera by Vikramaditya Motwane and the film still reminds me of old Bangla films.

Film Companion is the best channel for anyone interested in Hindi films. Why aren't more people subscribing it? I watch every video the day it is uploaded. Just watched this adda again today!

Viewing this since 2015, this was my first tryst with @FilmCompanion, and have lost the count how many times I have watched this same interview ! Especially, the polemical part, I watch it every time, like back to back 12-15 times

Great, love, love, loved it. I am not Bengali or a fan of the culture, still just as intelligent audience of Indian Cinema, I found discussion engaging. In general, It is so refreshing to see that Anupama is doing such sessions which go beyond stars and gossips and bring out interesting discussions about movie making. When I started watching Anupama's "Front Row" show, I didn't like the way she was conducting it, for example taking reference such as, so and so Hollywood personality has said so, what do you think? I cringed at that and thought "kese log journalist ban jate hey?" but she has evolved immensely and with this new venture "Film Companion" she is doing great job as a host and more so as a producer to bring such refreshing concept to enrich viewers. Take Adda, Master class ( I loved the one with Kangana ), Director's Choice...Good Work and Keep it up!

This is one of the most enjoyable, learning discussion that film companion presented. Though every talk is exclusive and interesting that have been presented by film companion, this had been different in every respect. Want more of the same from Anupama.

Rituporno etc. Lot to discuss actually. Yes we missed shoojit who is more punjabi and Anurag basu who is from my home town Bhilai. Again Bengali is everywhere 😀not just in Kolkata.
