As a European, I have a silly question: Why don't they pause the MLS during the Copa America? I mean, I understand that they don't care about the EURO, but why don't they consider a major tournament on their own continent, even in their own country this year?

Copa is a South American competition at its basis, even if they're slowly trying to get CONCACAF teams to join it. There's also the fact that there's another club competition coming up in a few weeks for MLS and Liga MX clubs during which they stop the league for a full month. They can't stop the season for both and therefore prioritise the one they organise and gets them money.

@@dalexdalex I'm curious as to how that's my opinion. The MLS usually stops during the Gold Cup, but never has for the Copa since they are from two different associations. Add the Leagues Cup to the mix, they are not going to take another month long break, as simple as that. These are plain old facts mate.

watch some videos of the bailey or just live matches and hear the crowd. I was there on saturday, albeit in some bougie seats (can't turn down good tickets for free) but I was up dancing and chanting. Fun fact, the loudest chant of all time in TQL (which is designed for it) was Saturday night. It was the Hey Hey Goodbye chant when bousquets got sent off. It was over 120 decibels.

I love that, out of 6 goals, only one FCC player scored twice. Depth is so important. It’s crazy to think that they even had at least 4 or 5 more good opportunities that they unfortunately couldn’t capitalize on.

@@imdoingfine Which is how coaches should be. But you ultimately can’t discount the fact that (thanks to Noonan’s selections), FCC now has multiple players capable of putting the ball in the net. Last year, they were relying almost solely on Acosta.

Here is why this is so impressive. FCC were literally last place for their first 3 years in the MLS, had to deal with so much struggle while not being able to bring in much talent. Inter Miami made 3 huge European signings in one summer where AppleTV pay their contracts. Did it help not having Messi, suarez, and alba playing tonight? Absolutely. Does that mean people should take away from FCC’s amazing attack tonight? Absolutely not. This team has defied the odds in this league being a non-original member team, in a non-destination city and still brings in the likes of miles Robinson and Deandre yedlin to want to join them. Unreal.

Apple TV is definitely not paying Inter Miami salaries. Messi has a promotion deal with them and Inter Miami is paying his salary and the rest of the team.

At the end of the day he stated that he wasn't going to play in the Camel League because of his family. So therefore he looked into other options and made his decision to join MLS. At the end of the day it was a win for Messi, Inter Miami, Apple TV and MLS.

This time, FCC made it clear how dominate they could be… that game, Inter Miami showed how dominate they could be. I am a FCC Fan, was born and raised in Cincy, but I can respect that Inter Miami is a good team, and I won’t trash talk them. Yes, Inter Miami was missing Messi and Suarez , and a few others. Yes, Cincy is missing the "23" defensive MVP as well as another key DBF , true Albi and Gomez were out as well. But fella's this wasnt a win this was a beat down. They play again in a few months and we will see but 6 to 1.... yeeesh. If all were back for both teams, no one knows for sure who would have won. But after watching this game if I had to bet it would be on Cincy. If you feel like Cincy didnt earn this game you didnt watch the whole thing.

They’re pretty evenly matched. They already tied 3-3 playing against each other with everyone in the game. Red Bulls trounced them in the same fashion when they were gone, then when they came back in home stadium with everyone they trounced them even harder

It’s not going according to script for MLS. The script is by not increasing the salary cap with the additional apple money, MLS is betting on Messi and inter Miami would walk over the league and win MLS Cup by playing against inferior competition. Messi and inter Miami first MLS championship would be worldwide news and bring massive tv ratings and huge publicity. Inter Miami would have a big championship parade on South Beach and all the celebrities turning up. Inter Miami could still win the league but it’s not going to be a cake walk.
