Definition:
A fixed deposit (FD) is a type of term investment offered by several banks and NBFCs. These deposits typically offer a higher rate of interest, subject to certain terms and conditions. The amount you deposit in an FD is locked for a predetermined period which can vary between 7 days and 10 years.
The interest rate for FDs is fixed at the time of opening the deposit and independent of any fluctuations in the market. Some financial institutions even allow one to break their FDs prematurely on paying a certain penalty fee. You have explained considering 1st as starting date and month end as closure date. If the FD made in between, how to calculate the interest ? Ex an FD taken on 19th Oct-20 and maturity by 10th Jun-21. How to go with interest calculation for this ? Does the bank pay full quarter interest in this regard ?

Jyada difference ata nahi hai sir jo100000ke hisab se 6%ka 6000/- simple interest hota hai compound interest ke hisab se sirf136/-rupees jyada mila hai

Sir when banks add quarterly interest they also deduct tds and then add the final amount ( in the example you mentioned after 3 months 1500 was the quarterly interest but they will not add 1500 instead the bank deducts 10% tds i.e. 150 Rs and finally 1500-150= 1350 will be added)and that is the reason why MATURITY AMOUNT that is written on the fd document doesn't match with the actual amount that you get on maturity. My request to you is to make a calculator that not only calculates the maturity amount but also calculates the amount after tds deduction on quarterly basis.You are doing a great job and I too have subscribed to your channel, all the best and God bless

Kindly make a video on "Computation of Tax Liability on Total Income" Part B - TTI. Gov make charges like "Interest for default in payment of advance tax(section 234B)" and "Interest for deferment of advance tax(section 234C)". They want we calculate our tax and pay in advance in that financial year itself. But I feel it is not justice, if our ITR deadline is end of july month and we get form 16 in next financial year itself. It is too difficult to predict tax in same financial year without form 16. Please make a video to cover such problems of interest over tax (Double Tax) .

My fd for 55000 is from 21 October 2022 to 12 June 2024 but first interest it calculated on 65 days...rate is 6.5% then it calculated every 91 days...so first interest calculation not correct according to 6.5 days...is it possible that for 2 months it calculated interest just on some other rate than 6.5 then for quarterly that is 91 days it calculated on 6.5%

If Savings Bank Account Interest Rate is 4% pa, would it be beneficial to go for Fixed deposits for short term(where interest rate are less than 4%)

For very short term, FD and savings account interest rates are same. FD should be at least 1 year to get slightly more interest than savings else the rates of FD has gone down in recent time for term less than a year

I want to ask that if I opened FD in month of Aug 2019 for 1 year duration and Interest had transfer at the end of maturity. Then for financial year 20-21, in ITR I have to show the final interest or I have to calculate only during Apr 2020 to March 2021?

@@speduphub interest rate hamesha annual hota hai which means yearly interest rate. Hume 45 days ka interest rate calculate karna hoga from annual interest rate (2.5/365*45) aur phir isko use karna padega to calculate interest
