Serious question from someone who was a volunteer firefighter in Georgia for a good while... Why would FDNY engines carry so much hard suction? I would think that they would never need to draft given the water system in the city. In even a suburban setting I only ever drafted from my engine for pump testing.... What am I missing? FDNY is not dumb....so what do I misapprehend?
