Hello everyone and welcome to this video in which I show you the building process of the display case for my 1:18 diecast & resin modelcar collection.
This video isn't sponsored by the manufacturer of the shelves, but I'm still going to tell you here in the description where I ordered it (on sora.de) and how much it costed (168€). Now even though the quality of the display case is quite good, I think they are too expensive (168€ for 12 1:18 modelcars...). So you might ask: Why do I still buy them? As you can see in the video, the space where I can put the shelves is quite narrow, so i need a customized size for my display cases. On sora.de, you can perfectly adapt the size of the shelves to your personal needs. Apart from the high price, I have to say that all my 1:18 supercars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche etc. look absolutely brilliant in this display case!

If anybody is having issues translating the german website, google chrome automatically gives you the option to translate the page if you use their web browser Cool video and thanks for the product insight, will probably purchase after i get some money since i spent it all on diecasts lol

I see you have a nice collection! What brand do you prefer? Autoart, kyosho, minichamps etc.? Which one is best for the price in your opinion? Thanks

I'm sorry for the late reply, for some reason, I didn't get a notification when you commented... So in general, I collect modelcars that cost between 80€ - 150€ (with some exceptions) In that price range, you can find Kyosho (Resin)/Minichamps/GT Spirit etc. I love AUTOart models as well, but most of them are too expensive for me. AUTOart ist just getting a lot too expensive in my opinion... Look at the Pagani Huayra Roadster: The model from AUTOart costs +-100€ more than the one from LCD-Models, but it definitely isn't 100€ better! 1:18's are way cool but man do they take up space, your solution is probably the best and those are the best display case systems I've seen. Good job for what...about 100 scale1:18s there?

You‘re so right, they take up way too much space... I really like the way the collection looks with these display cases, even though they are very expensive, as I‘ve admitted in the description... I‘m not quite yet at 100 models, currently at somewhere around 80! Thanks for your comment! Greetings

I only buy Sora cases, they are excellent, I use the 6 car cases like these, and although they seem expensive, these are the best I have had, having collected 1:18 s able cars for around 20 years.

Nice, quick question. What did you use to display the names of the cars? Should I use index cards cut down to size?

Sorry for the late reply. I used Excel to create the labels, and I printed them out on thick A4 paper and then cut them to the right size. I hope that helps. Greetings

Oooh! Love it! €168 for just 12 models it is expensive. I've currently 32 models in my collection so I need to spend over €500, that would be too much for my pocket. I would prefer spending that amount on the models. :) But a cool concept idea.

You‘re right, they are too expensive... I‘m not sponsored by the shop who sells them, so I can tell my honest opinion here. If you have space to put a normal IKEA display case there, go ahead, you will save a lot of money. The problem with my room is that the space for my modelcars is very narrow so I need a special size for my display cases, which I haven‘t found yet at any other store. @@Fe12TB I immediately got attached to this system as I too have limited space. To place my first 32 models I had to alter a cocktail cabinet by removing all, install new glass shelves and that's it! To add this system to my room would be great, but although being very practical and space saving, they're too expensive. The reason for being expensive, I believe it has to do with the acrylics apart the cuttings. I have an idea on doing the same system but maybe using cheaper material. 😉

@@lor7780 You can only get the dimensions above when you chose "Mehrfachvitrine Übergröße" (english: oversize). For the normal "Mehrfachvitrine", you can't get these dimensions. I mostly collect modelcars in the price range of less than 180€, that‘s my usual budget. My favorite carmaker is Ferrari, but there‘s not many Ferrari modelcars coming out in that price range unfortunately. Greetings

Hello! So a few people here in the comments have already told me that their website is not available in English, which is a true shame... I‘m neither working for the company that makes these display cases nor am I sponsored by them, so unfortunately I don‘t have an influence on their website. So I’m afraid I can’t offer you a solution to this problem. The only possibility I see for you is to translate the German words individually... I know that sucks, but it‘s the only way I can think of.
