All three were working on projects at Universal at the time and this piece was originally created for Universal promotional purposes.

Wow, Cronenberg was making Videodrome and Carpenter was making The Thing when they did this interview? Two future legends in the same room, both working on future legendary movies...blows my mind.

regarding movie ratings: there is a documentary called "this film is not yet rated" which is a good look at that whole system and the flaws with it.

Landis a man without empathy or remorse. He is smug and narcissistic when he was interviewed over the years about his involvement in the twilight zone deaths at his hands for The Twilight Zone. His son is like him. He’s classless

the last part is the worst for me: when the first movies that more or less solely relied on "jump scares" came out I didn't mind. but nowadays it seems that almost the whole genre is made out of movies like that. "jump scares" are not really scary, though. they are actually more "suprising" than anything else.

The last 2 minutes of this interview really make me realize the lopsided moral values and prudish nature of America and America film. Graphic violence in film is perfectly ok especially during times of war, but OH God! We can't show a mans penis or a women's vagina and tits on screen because that's bad and might give young kids innuendos to be promiscuous. Honestly, What is more offensive? Showing someone getting their head blown off, or machine gunned to death while their innards spill out on the screen, or showing a man and a women having sex which is a nature human thing?

No one today respects horror films. It's all overt violence, rampant drug use and stupid teenagers getting drunk. They slap fans in the face by giving us shitty parodies and bad acting and unfunny, obnoxious, juvenile jokes instead of giving us threatening killers and entertaining stories and suspense is lost as well!
