I will say I didn’t pick it up the first time in the opener but the reason she’s not fleeing the mall as soon as she escapes the first time makes sense. I was like “no run outside girl.” It dawned on me that the store she’s running to is the one Ryan works at. Her friend. Who also has a get away vehicle. Also 2v1 is much better odds. It makes sense that she went there.

It's true; the 90's were a lawless decade. 10/10 accurate af.

They're all cursed, so no one can literally leave that town. And the worst is, without a doubt, Kate's death. A terrifying scene and Josh seeing her dead body... as Sophie Hawkins said: dAmN! anyway loved to see benji's theories and rizzo's bad (but also great) jokes, happy spooky season yall!!!

Kate’s death was insane and very well done. It took a while and the other boys are off camera so you expect one of them to interfere but nope! I was so disturbed!

I read the fear street books as a youngin and I was so excited for these movies bc those books were my childhood. I feel like the fear street books are aimed more at teenage girls. I really felt captured the spirit of these books well though I did not read the books that the movies are based on, though I did read one that had to do with Sarah fear and the evil but she was not accused of being a witch and it was a totally different time period.

This is the first time I noticed the lobster! It was definitely moving like "Whelp! That's my cue to head out" I have a theory related to Benji's question about people living in Shadyside despite it's history: the majority of the 1994 residents are descended from the colonists who executed Sarah Fier. Other people had likely moved to Shadyside over the following centuries, thinking it was a normal town, until newspapers and other media started releasing details about the mass homicides. Being branded the "murder capital of America" led to fewer investors in local businesses, larger corporations not wanting to build locations there, limited funding for education & infrastructure, limited employment & career advancement. The curse and the branding traps them there. Even if someone were to graduate as valedictorian w/a clean record and move out of state, once other people discovered where they came from, that person would be judged for it, and possibly be overlooked for opportunities. The curse isn't just the murders; it's being ostracized for the association with them.
