Are you doing it on day 5 in the Main? Or are you doing it in 1/2 cash games? Or in $10 buy in tournies?

I'm with you. Doing it at high mid or low stakes is still bad. But obviously Chidwick is a great player, so I'm thinking why his reads seem to be a bit off sometimes is that he is used to playing against elite players in high buy-in tourneys. Those same tactics performed against more normal or non nosebleed players will not work as often.

I think the first hand was a punt as V will wake up with many big hands apart from overpairs given btn vs blinds dynamics. He could’ve check folded flop and saved flop 2.4M. I understand the move but it’s not necessary when we’re this deep on day 5.

I used to think that all players on those real highstakes were pros or very skilled, but that's far from true lol. You got quite some "fish" still in higher stakes too. Luck is a big part in tournament and that only enhances if they play like that.

He tried some aggressive moves on the first hand but after that it was: flip, he got pocket aces, and AK vs KQ, then KK vs JJ. This is standard in tourney's. Not sure I am seeing the fearless aggression in these clips? Pretty standard MTT play.

He could be making a move with some different holdings eventhough it's not that natural. If the opponent mostly think he'll have Jx and maybe some Q10 and 109s bd flushdraws it's not as though it's a super minus ev play when he'll mostly have 2 overs and sometimes the best hand. However I doubt Stephen chidwick would bluff that spot vs a fishy amateur

The same guy in a hand a little later against Chidwick, in a 3bet pot he had TT vs AK and raised a king high flop, then moved all-in on the 3-flush complete turn (he had none of the suits) making Chidwick fold!!! Pure madness so late in the tournament.

Why are the commentators obsessed with college degrees? Does tom dwan have degree? Does phil ivey have degree? Does Hellmuth have degree? The list goes on and on and on... I don't see how that means much in a poker tournament. I have a law degree, it barely helps me in life; and it for sure does not help me play poker!!

As usual, you have to win some flips especially big field tournament if you want to take it down. I don't know what Holmes doing on that last hand. He expect Chidwick to fold on his re-shove or he still think he is ahead with that AKo??? Pre flop most likely Chidwick open, Holmes 3 bet and Chidwick call. I don't understand why he still want to donate that 1.3 m chips, that's 20++bbs.
