I'm more a thrash/death/black metal kind of guy but my daughter loves these kind of bands and i have to say that blessthefall are pretty much one of the best bands doing this kind of stuff.

The year was 2010. I went into hot topic, saw the CD for this album and thought it looked cool so I bought it. First metalcore band CD I ever bought and loved. Here I am 27, missing this style of metal and jamming while lit off bud light seltzers. Times have changed.

I used to adore BTF, and even though I’ve moved on from this particular style, I’ve always had mad respect for the guys in the band and have them on socials. Ended up listening to this track and the album it came from for the first time in probably a decade tonight and it’s been a really fun trip down memory lane. One of the first things that struck me is how relentless the song structure is, and how different it would be if written nowadays. The hard transitions from verse to chorus just would not be a thing anymore, they’d probably be compelled to throw in a synth break or sample - I probably would. But I’m glad it didn’t. A really fun throwback to when songs could get huge, with an unconventional arrangement.

I LOVE how this ship has no known "master" and is still able to get moving fast.
