Man you're not kidding about these blades. I've had a 50 pack since January but rarely use them; I'm just not dexterous enough yet. I've been shaving with a Futur for a while now and love it, but when I used my first feather I was a bloody mess after! I finally used one again yesterday and had much better results. They gave me the closest shave I've ever had.

Geo - Another GREAT job ! I'm sitting here waiting for the ball to drop watching some of your videos on my iPhone and noticed this new one... Man I was excited, and it was a great one. Me too Marty I am up to seven brands and this one is great and I found the Feather head will fit the handle of the Merkur 23C which gives me a little extra reach (frozen shoulder) and a little less weight but great shave.

Hi Geo , I've been watching your videos with great interest and they have inspired me to start using a DE razor , I now have the Feather you are using here and Edwin Jagger D89 and also on your recommendation the Bluebeard's Revenge shaving cream all of which I can't praise enough ... Just received my new Feather stainless razor this week. Expensive? Yes, but worth it? Absolutely! This is my third safety razor from Shave Nation and I would call the Feather "The Ferrari" of safety razors. Silky smooth glide with the Dreadknot blades and a very fast clean shave. This is a great quality razor and I've really enjoyed using it the three shaves I've had so far. My final razor purchase will be the Mercur adjustable, but for now I'm very happy with the Feather.

@geofatboy Thanks for replying, I bought the feather all stainless, today I had my first shave with it. I think it is the best shave I have ever had. I have tried antique razors and a Merkur 34c, but the feather in my opinion is the best.

I wish you would do a video on how to shave around the nose. I have to use a small throw away razor to get up on the inside part of the nose as I have some hair growing there. Love you videos.

Had been eyeing up a new DE safety razor after my last razor (butterfly variety) kicked the bucket. As a piece of the moving mechanism eventually corroded, I was specifically looking for a 3 piece stainless replacement that would last a lifetime. I'm hoping that this Feather All Stainless razor is it. A little pricey but if I take care of it should be an heirloom. Thanks for the great video and for giving me the final push to buy this razor. I look forward to using it for years to come.

HELLO, i have been using a DE Safety razor for quite some time now. as opposed to the usual 30 degree angle of the safety in wet shaving. Is that the case in FEATHER All Stainless Steel ASD2 Razor OR an Angle of 45 Degree is to be kept while shaving with this Razor ???

I just got into wetshaving a few weeks ago. I've been shaving with my grandfather's C-MON straight and I was wondering how to shave my mustache without cutting my lip off. I'm an oaf. I found his old Spornette with the rake and I wonder if that would work well. I'm also a teenager so my beard isn't very full but do you have any tips?

How do you like the Feather compared to the DE89? I recently started de razor shaving with the de89 and love it, so I picked up this feather. I'm still partial to the de89, I think it does a much cleaner first pass.

I have this razor myself. It is mild and efficient, but hard to keep looking nice. For some reason, the handle likes to suck up the soap and the head of the razor ends up with a layer of soap scum that, if you don't clean it right after using, is quite unisghtly. Any suggestions on how to restore this beauty to its former glory?

In my experience all safety razors made by fine materials give the same result. Only the quality of blades are important.

Not understanding something, I've been using a safety razor for a long time but never really looked into all the different types out there until now. This Feather seems to be very high on everyone's list. But this is a non adjustable blade correct? How is a non adjustable so good for so many people? The other one I'm looking at is the Rockwell 6S adjustable. Mainly because it's adjustable. I'd like to buy one of them at some point.

Hi Geo Happy holidays (as I believe you say on that side of the Atlantic)! Another great video Sir and that is one beautiful razor (I can feel my RAD calling me!) I noticed you were using the same EJ Shaving Bowl that I bought and then discarded as I found it too small in diameter and too deep for me to gain a good lather. Any tips on how you generated that "über-lather" (LOL!) in this bowl? Keep up the fantastic work my friend.

Thanks for a great vid, Edwin. Am thinking about "graduating" to a DE razor at the old age of 48! haha Your skin looks a lot "tougher" than mine and you're obviously well used to DE shaving. Any tips for a novice starting off? I have already bought The Art of Shaving products e.g. pre-oil, sandal wood cream, brush and balm. Using a Fusion Pro Glide right now. Thanks!

well i started to shave with the safety razor and i have still irritation and some bloody spots...i'm know thinking of trying the sensor excel 3. i've heard that it should work also with sensitive skin...have u ever tried that one?

I watched a few of your videos now for tips on shaving and products.... Thanks for your reviews. I'm trying to decide between the Feather and the Merkur FUTUR. I want a high quality Safety Razor and I think I'm leaning towards the FUTUR because I am pretty new to wetshaving and I really like the idea of an adjustable. +Peter Hubbard Thanks for the kind words! There is a big difference between the Feather All Stainless and the Merkur Futur. The Feather is very mild shaving, lighter and smaller in size, The Futur offers the adjustment feature to go from mild to aggressive and feels much more substantial in the hand.

Got into wet shaving a few weeks ago, and was curious about, and if this razor was worth the price. Now I have seen and am completely convinced that it is! Now its the question, do I save for the razor or save for the 10 year anniversary gift Im thinking about for my GF. Huh, I don't know what to get her,(and its not gonna be a wedding ring, I'le tell you that right now!) But Im always in the market for cool stuff for myself, yeah that's it, the razor, then her. Yeah, I agree that the Feather AS is a great razor. People that knock it for being a Tech clone probably haven't tried it. I love mine and the butter-smooth shave it gives. It shares equal time with my Fatboy and Super Adjustable. What brush do you use in this video?

If you would have a 5 razor blade, would you need to go tree times, or would it be enough just one shave?

You could boil it in a steamer/double boiler, the kind that has a pot with holes that sits on top of a pot with boiling water. Take the razor apart and boil the parts. Never boil a razor in a pot with a solid bottom. Afterwards put a coat of carnuba wax on the razor, let the wax haze and then polish it.

Hi Geo, I am about to buy a safety razor from shave nation. I have sensitive skin so would you recommend the feather all stainless razor or Edwin Jagger DE89. I have been using the Merkur 38c for last two years. It works great but can’t use it everyday because of irritation.

Really, and soap/cream made for use with a brush should lather up like this. You have to make sure you have a good product to water ratio. Have a look at the badgerandblade forums on how to make the perfect lather.

Everyone one thinks I'm a colossal pervert part 2: During the holiday season we have been meeting various members of our extended family and my wife has been taking great delight in letting them know that, as she puts it, "He's become obsessed with watching men shave on the internet!" When matched with a Feather blade, there is no finer DE shaving. I have tried Merkur, Jagger, Gillete, etc razors with every blade imaginable. As I said, The Feather razor with the Feather blade is like James Bond...Nobody does it better.

Hi Geo LOL! regarding the 'Kung Ku' references; that was one of my favourite TV programmes as an ankle biter! I'm sure there are dozens of quotes from the series would be applicable to your almost Zen-like ruminations regarding the path to DE righteousness! How about: "Remember always, that a wise man walks with his head bowed", or, "When you cease to strive to understand, then you will know without understanding". David Carradine would be proud, Grasshopper!

Great razor with a feather blade but would like to know what you think of the Rex Ambassador - out of my range as it is $90 more than the Feather ($258 here in Australia) at $344.
