Don't let peer pressure lead you to do something you don't want to. Your friends should respect you not wanting to drink. It is up to you and how comfortable you are in breaking a promise to yourself. If you want to have a drink, do it. If it's just because of peer pressure, maybe reconsider.

I’m on the Lent wagon too Iris but with chocolate & cake 😩 I know you can break it on a Sunday but I’m kinda an all or nothing person so stick to it (God knows why as I never lose any weight 🙈🤣) So maybe swap your day Great vid as always xx

Hi Iris. Great video. At the end of the day it's up to you to drink or not on your night out.. No one else can judge you. My personal opinion in going to be different than everyone else so far 😅 I'm not Catholic. I do fast during Ramadan and I personally wouldn't break my fast for a day out/event ( I don't drink alcohol anyways). You do get Sunday as a day off in Lent but there is a reason its a Sunday and not any day of the week. You are also not supposed to eat meat on Fridays during Lent , a lessor known fact 😂 I hope you have a great night out with your sisters.

Haha I was always asked by my grandmother what I had eaten every Friday during lent to see if I’d eaten meat. So I definitely know that rule!! 😂 thank you so so much xx

Iris I am Irish Catholic and when the Pope gave the go ahead to eat meat on Friday when it fell on St. Patty’s Day I decided that if I wanted a pepperoni pizza during Lent then so be it. You are a good person so I believe you will be forgiven. Have the drink!❤️❤️

i don’t drink alcohol at all, and tbh i’ve never understood why people get annoyed at me when we are out and i don’t have a drink 😂 it’s not like we can’t have a good time sober, and you seem like someone who can have a good time without a drink! obvs it’s up to you if you want to or not, but if it’s peer pressure and you don’t want to disappoint other people, then don’t! it’s really not the end of the world, and it won’t affect your sisters if you don’t drink! have a nice time xx

I don't participate in Lent, I'm a different kind of Christian, but my take when it comes to things that I've set goals for is I will do what I want to do. If the people around me make me feel guilty for trying to take care of myself then maybe they aren't someone I want to have around. There are some great non-alcoholic alternatives, that you can look up. Either have a virgin drink made at the bar or pack some of those drinks yourself. They're not alcoholic but they do give you a bit of a buzz because of the different natural herbs they put in.

I have given up Alcohol for lent too. I have my 1 day off on Fridays when I have a tipple in the evening. The only exception is when I have a special occasion I swap my day. For example, my brother is getting married in 3 weeks so I am swapping my off day to the Saturday that week. I know it is supposed to be that Sunday is the off day but I have always done it on a Friday.

@@irisbudgetsso lent is abstinence from what ever you have chosen for 40 days (not including Sundays). If you count the total days between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday, it is something like 46 days.

You can use a sunday as a rest day for lent (i believe) so am pretty sure you can use your night out as your rest day instead. The lord will forgive you 😂 young girls skin care is unbelievable now. Not like when we were kids. My skin was lucky if i remembered to wash off my Maybelline dream matte mousse foundation after a couple of blue wkds 😂
