“trashy fanfiction. RESPECTFULLY” is so real and i’m seeing so many more published books that give me those vibes. they’re not necessarily good, but you can’t put them down

I finally picked up Clockwork Boys and The Wonder Engine by T. Kingfisher this month and loooooved them. I've now read all the books from that universe it's so fun (and romance-heavy).

february was an amazing reading month for me! the all of us villains duology + a fragile enchantment + gwen and art are not in love were all bangers✨

getting recommended the book right next to me that I'm part of the way through reading is definitely a good sign lmao (the salt grows heavy)

I liked Gilded and Cursed a lot more than the Lunar Chronicles, actually. I remember loving the Lunar Chronicles, but they didn’t stick with me over time. Gilded was so weird that I know it’s going to be one of those series I’ll never forget.

i'd love to see your thoughts on marrissa meyer's "renegades" trilogy. i read the first two books in feburary and i'm getting the third next week. i have a lot of mixed feelings about the writing but i love the world she's crafted for us to dive into. i've even been tolerating (and even slightly enjoying) the romance even though i normally HATE romance in books.

I really liked your video about Unhinged! It was really funny but also really uncomfortable. I finished reading (if you consider listening to audiobooks reading) 5 books in February which is a lot for me. One was the second book of the Sisters of Shadow and Light duology (Warriors of Wing and Flame). The first 2 books of the Inheritance Games, The Song of Achilles :( , and The Measure. I feel like you would enjoy The Measure. It's adult fiction with drama/romance. There are lots of characters that are intertwined and has a death aspect. It reminds me of Adam Silvera's Death-Cast world. I also read (thanks to your video) A LOT of A River Enchanted in February and just finished it last night. I started the second book as soon as I finished it. Hope you enjoy NY and that the weather there is okay.

"Trashy fanfiction. RESPECTFULLY" It took me out 🤣 And I totally agree with the forced romance in The Wishing Game! All the other aspects of the book are so beautiful, profound and heartwarming, but the romance kinda fell flat...

I had a surprisingly good February for reading. I think the best books I read was Amari and the Night Brothers and The Kaiju Preservation Society.

the montague twins duology was the best thing that i picked up last month when you recommended it. i'm glad i wasn't the only one that picked up on the bit of supernatural it was giving. al's overall personality is so much like dean to me and his dynamic with pete reminded me of the brotherhood aspect of supernatural. the magic system definitely felt a little info dumpy; though i didn't dislike it. i just want more?? if that makes sense. but i feel like it's pretty uncommon for a graphic novel series to truly become realized in a full-fledged series. 😭😭

I ended up buying Nothing But Blackened Teeth from Barnes & Nobel because they had it on sale for $5. I thought the book had an interesting plot and I was kinda excited to read it….. I felt so disappointed lol. Everything you said about the book is exactly how I felt 😭

Thanks for another great video Jesse, producing great content even on a trip! Also, I really cannot wait to see how that boba knitting kit turns out and how challenging it is since I want to get one haha. As far as my wrap up, I read 9 books, faves including The Dragon Republic, Before the Coffee Gets Cold and basically all three of the Wayward Children novellas I've read. On the opposite end, I DNF'ed Iron Flame 😬 Currently working on Before Your Memory Fades and a memoir Outofshapeworthlessloser about Gracie Gold's competitive figure skating career and her struggles with mental health and eating disorders during that time. Both are great so far in different ways. Hope you're jumping into March with some good books!

I read and gave 5 stars to Map of the Otherlands and The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon. The Mask Falling gave me Trauma with that ending. I will not be the same until the next book comes out probably next year.

Love the cozy wrap-up vibes! Often the best reading months aren't the ones filled with 5 star reads, but rather the ones where the act of reading itself was a wonderful time. February was an amazing reading month for me! Finished 10 books, got to reread some old favourites, discover some new favourites (Dungeons and Drama, Greymist Fair, and Empire of Exiles), and only had one disappointment (Anna O).

I think one of my favourite reads this last month is The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater because I think I never could imagine meeting someone who could understand getting very extremely passionate about things- And then I met Gansey. (I love Noah a lot. He is so funny and the shenanigans with the entire Gangsey is just ✨spectacular )
