I had so much fun growing up with Italian people. 60s they where so family oriented. The food all home made. The elders would pinch your cheeks and they would hug you so hard. Nothing but loving memories. Great culture good family people.

No offence but, I was born in Providence in 1960 and I miss Federal Hill being "Little Italy" with only Italian culture, it has nothing to do with being prejudiced against any other nationality, (I'm not even Italian!) but, just as other cities have Little Italy, China Town, Little Moscow etc., it's nice to have the different sections so you can experience that culture. I grew up around Atwells Ave./Mt. Pleasant Ave./Manton/Olneyville. I remember the live chicken/rabbit stores on De Pasquale!

Wonderful video. A nice tribute to Italian-American culture and an inspiration for the newest immigrant groups to persevere and succeed in this great country. America’s strength comes from and will always come from our diversity.

Every group can have their place in Providence. Providence is big enough. Keep The Hill little Italy. It’s just 1 Street.

The Chef from the restaurant, that said Opa in German was Grandfather and Grandmother, Not completely correct, it's means, just Grandfather called mostly by kids, because it's easier than to say Großvater( real word for men/ Grandfather),Grandmother is called Oma!✌🏽😘

@@christopherfeeney1962 it’s a conversation I have heard from others that care. There was less gang violence when the family did what they did. The same was said of Brooklyn. Do you think they got crushed so today’s government could be gangsters? Albeit unfair ones! 🤔🤣😂🤪
