Yeah, because laws are racist. At what point does holding people accountable for their actions turn into injustice? Serious questions. I feel like more criminals get arrested than non criminals. I feel like we're ignoring rhe elephant in the room when we completely disregard the fact that actions have consequences.
@MiraMiMorena15 күн бұрын
@@Brando23Commando You raise an important point about accountability and the consequences of actions. Actions indeed have consequences, and holding people accountable is crucial. However, the discussion about systemic racism in police practices isn't about ignoring criminal behavior but about ensuring that law enforcement is fair and just for everyone. For example, the DOJ report on the Phoenix Police Department highlights that Black people are arrested seven times more than white people for marijuana possession, and Hispanics are arrested three times more than whites for the same offense. This is particularly striking given that studies show the majority of people who use marijuana in the U.S. are white. These disparities suggest that certain communities are disproportionately targeted, which undermines trust in the justice system. Addressing these issues doesn't mean letting criminals go free; it means striving for a system where everyone is treated equally under the law. This includes ensuring that non-criminals are not unfairly targeted or subjected to harsher treatment based on race or other factors.

@JeanEDeaux I'm not ignoring anything. They are picking up people who are committing crimes. Maybe those people tend yo commit more crimes as the evidence keeps suggesting. It's not that "laws are racist", it's that people think they shouldn't have consequences for breaking laws. That's an accountability issue, not a race issue. Let's try being honest and responsible.
