Here’s another throwback from my old camera setup. I had the drone by this time but the wind pretty much grounded it. Luckily the wide shot looked pretty cool with the pole shaking in the wind.
You can find this siren behind their fire station. It was installed back in October 2012, which is hard to believe it’s been that long ago. It’s pretty much your average -130 and didn’t replace anything old. They have it setup where you can easily here the radio tones from the cabinet. Usually the volume is faint in other setups, but I heard this one clearly from 15-20 feet away. It’s also got some pitch fluctuations here and there but overall it sounds good…and loud. This thing maxed out two of my mics! Not many sirens have done that.
With the exception of Jasper, sirens in Dubois County are tested every first day of each month at 6PM. Tests are cancelled when severe weather is forecasted or if an active storm is in the area. Tests usually continue in light rain.
Enjoy, and as always comment, like, and subscribe for more. Thanks!
