Roger was devastating in this match, which was a delight to watch back then, considering the back issues he had during the Benneteau encounter, earlier in the tournament. It is in this match with Youzhny when he showed what was to come against Djokovic and Murray. I will never forget that moment when he won this precious title, when he fell stunned on the grass after Murray's last ball out. Roger's overall game in 2012 was a bit oscillatory, although leaning on good rather than bad.

@@unowen7591 his best chances afterwards were US Open 15 and of course Wimbledon 2019. Also should have gotten US Open 2011. Wimbledon 2014 was too close and any one really deserved that one, so I’m not going to say it was best chance. Wimbledon 2015 was more of Djokovic outplaying him. US open 2015 was a good chance especially due to the number of chances Federer generated but couldn’t capitalize on. AO 2016 there was no chance here at all. And of course Wimbledon 2019 which I don’t want to talk about. AO 2020 though Federer was injured and in bad form he didn’t do too shabby and played better against him than Medvedev would the year after. I think if Federer played a 2015/2016 Djokovic in 2017 in a slam I think it could have gone either way. Fedex had his best bh and mentality that year. Still, it feels good at least that Federer proved he was great on clay by defeating Djokovic in the 2011 SF.
