Fee has to be the most down to Earth rock star I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Hell, he's just a down to Earth person. Fantastic powerhouse voice. Have to head him live. Recordings don't capture it.

It is cool to watch these interviews. After seeing the Tubes half a dozen times between 1980 -1992 I had the distinct impression that Fee was quite an a**hole. But I guess those were the stage characters, not the guy himself. Here he comes across as surprisingly (to me) thoughtful, well-spoken, and well-educated. A theater kid - that makes so much sense. This band was very original and super talented, whip smart and wickedly funny. And they rocked like a hurricane!

Great, great, great. I was playing in a band - this is 20 years ago. We were loading into a club in Appleton Wi that was also a Mongolian stir fry place - Mongos. We are unloading all our gear in the side door and we come down for the 2nd load and here is a 15 passenger van that pulls up and out comes Prairie Prince, Fee, all the guys in the band. And we're all like.....Hey....it's the Tubes. They were just like..."Hey". Step aside, we're dining. They didn't hang for our set of course. There was a music festival or something going on and they were playing at that.

Can vouch for Fee's cool personality. He signed my old classic Donnay tennis racket cover during a Completion Backwards Principle Tour meet and greet. He thought it was hilarious bringing in that prop for signing and said he played tennis in his youth.

My biggest loss is not seeing The Tubes. Always liked their high energy that they put into their songs. Since Fee visits the thrift stores, I wonder if he ever came across this double LP, Frank Zappa & The Tubes Live. Apparently it's a bootleg and the cover with Frank Zappa getting it from a groupie. The smile on his face is priceless.

Fee is such a ultimate performer! It's a shame Quentin Tarantino or Paul Thomas Anderson or someone hasn't given him a juicy part in a movie. Fee in 'Inherent Vice' over Eric Roberts - how awesome would that've been? "Hey little hippy...." LOL For all my weirdness in my music 'career', Fee and The Tubes has ALWAYS been the main driving influence. Solid, polished, professional, and FUN! The Stones and AC/DC and U2 et al are good. But The Tubes are THE BEST! Music NON STOP! :)

Tubes were one of the greatest live acts from the mid 1970s to the early 1980s . Great rock , theater , and satire . But when Bill "sputnik" Spooner left the band , they weren't the same imho ... my favorite tubes concert video was new years eve/day 1975/76 in San Francisco at Winterland . The visual quality is not very good but the sound is good , and the content fantastic . tap on link to watch - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/op6deahz06etnY0.html
