What you need to know to bottle feed a baby cow! I'll show you everything, from how to mix Milk Replacer, to preventing Scours with Apple Cider Vinegar! We are currently raising two holstein calves! If you are thinking about raising a bottle calf or you just want to see some really cute baby cows, this video is for you!
If you know of an organic milk replacer, please let me know!!!
MILK REPLACER(if you can't get whole milk, straight from a cow)- I will NOT be purchasing the one in this video again, so I this link is for a different option. I have not had much luck finding an organic milk replacer, so I may just try using whole milk(I'll keep you updated)

I did one egg and one tablespoon apple cider vinegar every feeding on two calves and it cleared up in three days. I was also giving one quart of electrolyte midday.

We added apple cider vinegar to our calves feedings and it worked right away. They are much more energetic and their poops have improved. Thanks for the great advice.

Always hold your bottles at the mother's height, it will help keep milk from entering the lungs. Nice video ☺️

I have raised a number on our homestead and do not use the medicated milk replacer. The apple cider vinegar is new, usually at signs of anything I give them some electrolytes. But I do give my chickens the vinegar so I am sure it helps.

Drop an egg in each bottle and blow that protein level up some and the whites will give them needed fats to hold over to the next feeding, whole bottles are hard on the stomachs bc most calves only get less then a cup at one feeding on their momma, I give half in the morning with egg and ACV and a half in the evening and a half at night which is a few hrs later.

Heard milk should be at least 110 degrees. That helps prevent scours. Bigger calf at 2 weeks should get more than 4 pints. Closer to 6. I like product Clf Shield helps with ROG. Vinegar good tip.

Those were 2 Quart bottles (4 pints) that they were getting twice a day. You can also add a quart midday for an bigger calf.

We have two calves about 2 weeks. Thanks for suggesting Apple cider vinegar I will try that. I am wondering what you wash the bottles with. Do you use dish soap or an antibacterial soap? Also where did you get that brush?

Using the tap water from out of the water heater is not good, as there are unwanted chemicals that can leach into the water. Not for drinking.

question, we have a 2 week old baby we have had to tube feed she refuses a bottle and only sips a little out of a bucket not near enough so we continue to tube her, any tips etc?? I may try the ACV, we usually use Kiefer, in the drench and does good for getting their belly better. Any ideas would be great!!!
