Years later, Kev still sings with intense raw emotion. Give this underrated band their flowers
@kaicanyonellis3 ай бұрын
Yeah it's wild how much control he got over his voice. During the Lucy days I was worried he was going to burn out pretty early, but by Happy Pills he'd turned it around and he's only gotten more strength and stamina as the years have gone on!!!

Candlebox rules!I remember in '93 or early '94 my buddy picked me up to go out and he said " dude,you gotta hear this cd I picked up today" and after I heard this tune and Far Behind I was hooked,loved them ever since.Very underrated voice and lyrics by my man Kevin.
@Picla_Peremohy4 жыл бұрын
Far Behind so describes how it feels to lose a close friend to suicide. It will be 6 years tomorrow that I list my closest friend. Although I have been clean since 97, he relapsed and just got tired of shame and guilt he felt. Definitely Far Behind right now.

Can we just talk about how much fun these guys STILL have playing this song? The body language and facial expression pretty much tells the story. :) I love this version.

Yeah, that's because none of them (aside from Kevin, the singer) were actually in the band when the song was made.

@@jonnorris6664 I live in that limbo for years. One day when I thought I couldn’t go on anymore I walked into a dangerous situation and that was my bottom, my moment of clarity. Props to them for playing this gig. And props to the people who own and operate this awesome program. I struggled myself years ago when I was in college and music helped me find an "out." A couple of years ago, it occurred to me that I hadn't written a song recently, and then I realized that most of my music was used as an escape from drugs, depression, anger, and all of those bad things. So the fact that I haven't written a song in a while is a good thing. God bless music and God bless all of you. \m/

Candlebox is one of my favorite bands to come out of the Seattle grunge era. I still love listening to this and also the Lucy album. Pretty cool to hear acoustic version.

Dude.. like wtf!? You can't be a talented musician that writes with a fraction of the passionate emotion as he does without the Jesus flower... There's no example of consistent soul touching artist without it I believe... Huge difference between lighting up a j and bangin H though... Plus you said he picked it up and put it away... Like c'mon man!? That's not what a fein does bro lol Imagine how rude it would be to offer a toke and a smile that you risked your freedom to obtain and give to a "hero" of yours and he puts it in the trash or hands back to you ..🤔 He coulda been saving it for a band member, to dispose of without offense or saving for a rainy day when he needs the creative juices flowing to assist with another timeless classic we all enjoy... Find yourself one of them joints to help you lighten up a bit and hopefully enjoy the rest of your life without being an assuming, judgemental hater. Much love 💯✌️
