I am absolutely LOVING that! I hate it when simmers renovate and it starts off like "ok, this room gets bigger and then we get rid of this wall and the bedroom is now a bathroom".

Realism would be letting the electricity break, a water leak, roaches and also let the sink and the shower break why not. Then have a room mate, make them order pizzas and dont clean up the boxes, dont flush the toilet, have dirty dishes everywhere. Add a laundry basket so it can overflow and have dirty clothes everywhere. University dorm experience in one sims challenge 😭 Too real

Nah, the toilet paper placement was just off. Its meant to go in a weird place which you can't reasonably reach from the toilet. Which actually reminds me (not in a good way) of where my grandparents on my dad's side had their loo roll. They had it on the back of the door. The door was about 3 or 4 steps away from the toilet. You had to either guess how much paper you'd need prior to going, or would have to hope you didn't drip everywhere on the way to get some after if you forgot because you were used to a more sane placement. And their bathroom floor was carpeted. 🤢🤮

I never realized for the longest time I was ND bc my entire family is too lol we just worked together so well that I never knew anything different. I'm still learning as an adult how "normal" families work, it's wild hahaha

@@emericcson123 It’s the same with my daughters and I! I was always saying, “Oh, that’s normal”, when my daughter would bring up an ND behavior. She has been great with learning more about it, so I now know (and confirmed with my psych doc) that I have ADHD, and things I did growing up make more sense now. Truth. That happened a lot to me as a kid. She was only 10 years older than me, and really taught me a lot about the world.

I struggle to figure out which houses are meant to be "mansions" because most of the lots are tiny and once you extend the starter houses so they have enough space, they run out of garden. I like to build so the objects & room plans look realistic to real life houses in terms of scale & get frustrated that there are barely any 64x64 lots. Can't fit a terrace of houses on a 20x30. And its much rarer IRL to get detached houses unless rich. So that means that I end up building fancier houses because real life starter homes are NOT detached. They're tiny run down terraces.

The point of starters is that you only have 20k, maybe 21k, because the majority of players only start with one to two Sims. There's no way to furnish a starter with such low money and still have it look decent. And since there's only a small amount of ungodly large objects (observatory, cupcake factory, rocket ship), there's rarely any need to have an extreme amount of space. Once your Sims start earning and saving, the majority of Simmers who aren't doing legacy end up moving lots to larger (in the case of Base Game players, they've always thrown a fit for having such few lots, which they absolutely are in the right in). They build too many "starter" homes with empty space, and you can't afford to fill it. By cutting down the lot sizes, or at least just their builds, you can better fill up the homes. Also, by leaving a lot of the lot itself empty, this will give legacy oriented players a little room to build out. However, the lots should be small enough so that eventually most players will have to move their Sims. It's good to get a change of scenery in game, so encouraging the move to larger lots for larger homes later game is nice

The mansions are aspirational. Get the Sims to work!

Sunset Valley: Ugliest green and orange colors mixed together because EA was OBSESSED with every house being that color. Twinbrook: Grey. Everything grey. Just grey. Bridgeport: Apartment build with horrible room placements to represent the terrible routing this world had. Moonlight Falls: Give a Sim extremely poofy or long hair and make them live in a tent and wonder why we don't have Werewolves. Starlight Shores: The ugly lighting wanna be Hollywood world in Sims 4, but make a Lounge. Isle Paradiso: Sulani, but build a half finished house to represent Sims 3 always crashing within 5 minutes of loading this world. (That's all the worlds I played, I refused to use the Store because broke so idfk what could be themes for them lmao)
