Feeling lost, but that’s okay.

Just a casual, disorganized diary entry sharing some of my jumbled thoughts during a short period after graduation that I felt quite confused and lost about where I'm going in life. // Graduating college is something that many of us experience, but have you ever stopped to think about how student life is so different from working, adult life? As a fresh grad, I definitely took some time coming to terms with things like confronting comparison, losing an identity that defined me for so long, grappling with existential questions about my work / purpose. (I guess that's why the term "quarter life crisis" is thrown around so much!)
I feel a lot better now, but it's important for me to share my worries, predicaments and uncertainties on this channel as well -- as much for my personal documentation as to show anyone watching that it's normal + okay to experience these feelings. And I know that these feelings will very likely come back at various stages of transition in my life -- and that is okay, because now I know I can and will deal with it :)

All of your thoughts are so spot on! As a recent grad myself, I've also had to wrestle with lost identities, new routines, comparison, and the overwhelm that comes from all of that and more. I think things have gotten better for me too (I have also eased up on the LinkedIn scrolling shfgjh), but I catch myself still slipping into a sense of panic every now and then. Thank you for this amazing & validating video!!

totally feel you, but I promise it gets better as long as your recognize the thought patterns and fill your time with things that & people who matter to you!

Thank you so much! As a recent graduate myself I felt a lot of the same things and kept contemplating about the different paths. It's not that I lack opportunities but just that I feel afraid to choose one. This video definitely helped ease that feeling knowing that I'm not alone in this situation! Thank you!!!

This video resonated with me even though I haven't graduated uni/college. I finished high school, tried university, that didn't work out. Currently taking a "break" and am working fulltime. I am learning Japanese on the side when I can, trying to improve my art skills and writing. I published 4 coloring books on Amazon in the recent year and am working on a fifth. Meanwhile, comparison can get to me as I am not making much (if any) money from my art/writing, but also I am realizing how many more different things I want to explore (animation, 3D modeling, game development, even perhaps programming for games and Astrology). Thank you for sharing your thoughts. :)

@@victorialim My pleasure :) Yes, of course, I am sure I'll find the best path for me, for now the full-time job is fine, and I have some time to work on my creative projects as well as learn Japanese a bit. :)
