Feeling Nose-talgic?

Smells have a way of triggering specific memories and transporting you back in time. Research reveals it may be because sensory neurons in the nose are linked to two parts of the brain involved in processing memories and emotions: the hippocampus and amygdala. Thus, smell can be a powerful tool for tying together experiences and emotions - such as the smell of fresh cut grass and the feeling of being home. This process of connecting two discrete ideas is called associative learning. It is why certain smells - like hot cocoa over bonfire smoke - can make you nostalgic.
This is a video from the 2023 Brain Awareness Video Contest.

I smell smells which are not there and they invoke a memory of a smell which I just can't put my finger on but it was something I did smell as a child, I don't wanna say any scents so people don't try and create a solution, it really is irritating, I think a bit of brain damage, like I make jokes at times because of the burnt toast being heart attack and randomly I smell chocolate cake and I never eat chocolate cake or candy/cakes so its not in my home, so it does make me wonder. Oh and I love keeping different terpene blends, some are very terrible and smell like linalool in bubble bath but those are just poorly made products, some of the hemp extracts of terpenes are so amazing, Wedding cake is the most unique smell I have smelled (but only the live resin from true terpenes, I got another from terpenes UK and its not the same, I dunno why its not, the smell is still in the bottle and its just amazing from time too time.) Cereal milk is a weird one people might not like, I love, strawberry cough is just insane how a flower can smell like strawberry jam.
