I am now retired but used to work at a top secret gov establishment, and as such had to undergo developed vetting. in addition to that we also had to be SIA approved and the badge had to be displayed at all times. these so called security guys are operating in a totally illegal manner, why is this not being investigated ?

But also to remind everyone that, in the olden days, illegals were put into this 'initial accommodation' for a few days before being moved to 'dispersal accommodation;' As the supply of houses and apartments around the country began to be occupied, the backlog began in hotels. There are more people in dispersed accommodation than the 50k currently in hotels, As a side note: there's no point in 'speeding up the processing' if there is no alternative housing for them to be moved on to.

I want to know how much we are paying to house immigrants in posh hotels while our own ex veterans are homeless on the street being harassed by police! How have they managed to get cars when that money could have been paid securing housing in the community just like the rest of us have to! I am a pensioner and i would love to move to the Holiday Inn and have all my needs catered for. Looks like the tea and coffee is free also. It sickens me how our veterans are treated so badly and people with no investment in this country are warm, fed and have cars. Who from the host community would ever give this country their children or grandchildren to fight for it - not me! I don't disagree with taking in people from war torn countries but they should not fair better than the host community who built this country, fought for this country and worked all their lives to pay taxes!

I travel a lot. I have instructed my management to let me book my own hotel from now on. I will never book a Holliday Inn ever again.
