This could be my favorite song he made and yet it makes me feel somewhat sick to listen to it. I love you FELA. Please Protect his children and grandchildren.

this man single handedly said the truth about evrything , both the country, nija, colonialists, and greedy politicians , abuse of power . fela remains the greatest african icon of all time , he represents the rebel they cudnt destroy ,make his legacy forever remain like the burning flame of time , shine understanding into the closed minds of all africans under oppresion in every form of life ...

This isn't the 70s. This is actually 1990! The song was recorded in June 1989 with O.D.O.O. back when my parents met him. It came out as a single and video in 1990.

xixfunch I was a regular at the shrine's second incarnation at Ikeja Lagos. .walking down Pepple Street where the Club was located was like going into another dimension . A place where you had the inalienable right to be yourself. Hell you could dance down the full length of the street and no one would give you a glance . The very air of the place smelt of freedom. And when Fela held court once procedings began in the club it was like i had died and gone to paradise.

@01chidi Is it Irony that everything he predicted is happening. I wsh he was given a chance to rule Nigeria for once because he has the right recipe for success to rule nigeria and am sure when we have one good leader all african leader will follow suit. Boy how miss him but his music lives on. Long live abami eda, omo iya aje, black president.

Pafuka like most words in broken english can mean many things depending on the context, it can mean all the things the other users have stated, but more appropriately 'wen sumtin don pafuka' it means that thing has gone 'haywire' or 'broken down'.

Fela Anikulapo-Kuti was a HIV/AIDS denialists. At the age of 58 he died in 1997 of a disease he claimed didn't exist. Fela's older brother, Professor Olikoye Ransome-Kuti, had served as the country's health minister and launched Nigeria's much-lauded early AIDS program.
