That’s what I was just about to comment. Was she supposed to beg the judge for a longer sentence? She did what other people do, got caught, and owned up to it. Took a lot of balls to do that especially for someone in Hollywood where code is to deny deny deny.

On the other hand Lori is handling it very poorly so good luck with that Aunt Becky. In the future I think she might address it once in an interview or a magazine and that will be it. Done and done.

KHyunZ The problem isn’t with her sentence. The problem is with people of color getting much harsher sentences for doing less. None of these people should be doing much time because they’re not violent criminals.
@hyunji73124 жыл бұрын
Well then ur explanation tells her sentence is a problem. she could have got more time if she was poc. The nature of her crime is just as much as violent as the physically “violent” crimes because she took away the chance of a student who truly deserves to go to that university and potentially have a better live. She took that away by having more money.
@bluesanc884 жыл бұрын
You still seem confused. Her sentence isn't the issue. Black people's sentence is the issue. Doing long ass sentences for thses crimes solves nothing. It took a white celeb to bring light to the situation yes but that's life and tbh the only way racial injustices can be fixed.
@hyunji73124 жыл бұрын
Cleeve My first comment was implying she got off easy because she is a rich white woman. I know how poc get harsher sentencing but just because I didn’t mention that on my comment, it doesn’t mean I am overlooking the real issue. Her sentence solely tells alot how wrong the judicial system is. And that is why I said its a joke.
@bluesanc884 жыл бұрын
But calling for longer sentences is not the answer. Most saying these crimes shouldn't even warrant jail time. But now we have poc that been in jail for years because of it. I get she has white privilege that's not debatable

This still makes me extremely upset. Why? Because recently, we were being fed a narrative that affirmative action was allowing 'undeserving' low-income students to attend universities and get spots they 'didn't deserve.' These students work hard in schools that are underfunded and that don't offer the same level of education or access to resources like the schools rich brats go to. Now we see all of these wealthy parents and the corrupt shenanigans they have done to get their lazy, undeserving children into elite colleges! And, their parents are just getting a little slap on the hand. If it were minorities doing this, they would be serving 10-15 years in prison! This is just all wrong. Felicity Huffman doesn't deserve to have her career back so easily. She should go volunteer at these low-income schools and offer to pay college for at least ONE deserving low-income student to make up for what she did.
