This is burned into my memories. I don't know why it was suppressed for so long, but it's really creepy. Glad I found it, nonetheless.

6:00 When I watched this on VHS in the 90s, I always thought he said, "Now I'm going up, everybody up." I guess it's more gibberish than I recalled, but I still think of that line now and rhen regardless.

This is the best kind of sci fi

If this seems disjointed, that's because it is. It was originally without sound and with text intermissions, similarily to other silent movies. This is a later re-release with those removed and sound added.

My favorite scene is where the alien is examining Felix with a magnifying glass and Felix is very obviously giving him 'tude. Reminded me of the post-capture examination videos of Saddam.

Being hooked on this episode is like being hooked on drugs.

The plot could be a metaphor for the capitulation of the italian king to mussolini’s blackshirts during the march on rome, which happened in late 1922. There are definitely political elements being referenced here. The hammer that attacks Felix gives him sympathy in the eyes of the king, which could also be a reference to militant communist groups giving fascists political legitimacy from the perspective of neutral governments (especially given that the hammer is a symbol frequently used by communists).

What, no twerps here bitching about "Felix would have gone through explosive decompression, this is *soo* unrealistic..." ? Amazing.

Felix has a weird history with voices, but I think this might be his worst yet. Like, they just squished rubber together (knowing the state of Felix at this time, I wouldn't be suprised if they actually did that) I don't even know if he's speaking a language or legit just noises
