Generally, try to play mostly zoomed out (the best players play zoomed out 90% of the time), this will help a lot with your map awareness. Also with a superior eco and a massively advantageous map state, scouting becomes high priority so you can see what is coming (with that much eco you can easily spam t3 air scouts, not scouting the enemy game ender was your biggest mistake this game). This tip is related to the first, because by being zoomed out a lot, you realize what area of the map lacks intel over time. I assume you also had omni up at a decent time as well, so you can easily see when engineers are clustered around something for instance, so that will tell you that you should scout and have a look. One more thing for late game, is if you have a giant stack of novaxes like that (or the equivalent such as t3 or t4 arty), then the main goal is to just keep those alive and you'll win. Snipe the anti nukes with the novaxes, nuke it, that sort of thing. Otherwise you did great! You were hard carrying the northern team, and they just stole the game away from you due to a few easily fixable mistakes. P.S with a massive eco like that, you generally only need to match the enemy team in experimentals and stay defensive with them while protecting your game ending strategy (in this case, novaxes). It's similar to early game as well in team games, where you only really need just enough t1 and perhaps com upgrades to stay alive and hold your half of the map while hard ecoing back home. In lower ratings as long as you can eco up and balance your eco at the same time (spend at least 50% of your income on making more eco, unless the game will end in 3 minutes or less based on your scouting info), you will hard carry, like you almost did this game.

you played a solid game on your team part tho a bit more defensive turrets in key locastion to by time would have helped you a bit more from mass pushes and maybe walls to slow hard advances

but why did cruise missiles refused to launch? that was by far the bigger problem

Yes, it had some quite phases but it's an entertaining game and mistakes are a big part of it. Without those mistakes all games would look similar. Also, I really hate when lower players die and some pros take over (damn full share). Here, however, when players are around 1000 rating, they can't fully utilize the extra base, so killing someone does have an impact.

Agreed that while InaBlink did close it out, he also undercut his teammates several times in the mid-game by bugging out of fights that he could have made a crucial difference in, particularly in the air, so I think I'd also go with Martian as MVP. His play was solid throughout and his economy strongly carried T1 through most of the game, even if he didn't quite pull it out in the end.

It's always interesting to see how casters with different styles cover the same game. Like that crazy 1v1 Setons that Gyle and Jagged casted a while back.

That argument mainly holds for games featuring teams with very low and very high rated players playing together. Not the case here.

The problem with that logic is times like when yellow had 2 crabs on Martian's commander, and didn't kill him. BornToChill was effectively out of the game and his Commander was compeletely out of position. Once Martian was dead it would have only been a few minutes before BornToChill followed because of his Commander's position.

I was really surprised he did not go with bugs and more air in general. He had such huge production and the other team was doing crabs. though its easy to talk when in observer mode

Its a hard game to play when you can build anything you want, any time. You still have to pay for it though. I don't recommend actually playing like this but perhaps try playing a game and only give build orders for things you have mass in the pool to build. Doing that helps you get an intuitive sense for what things cost and eventually you can manage to keep things running on a low negative number. Not that im a pro or anything. I just know what helped me and that constantly being smart and thinking of a thing to build to stop or counter what they could do is what puts you in those -300 situations. When you see people make mistakes and think, oh i could have countered that with this. They probably did have the thought but also knew they could not afford to change production direction.

I was just thinking about that. How do they modify the AI? The AI would presumably be done entirely within the game's compiled C++ code, so not able to be changed. I wouldn't expect a game from 2006 to expose hooks for scripting for the AI routines.

While I can't say how it is done in SupCom I can tell you that custom AI's have been around for a long time. The first to that got really known was the Sorian AI.

@@rosaschlupfer635 Sorian works quite well on many maps, just tried AI-Swarm on Setons & astrogap-SF, builds one factory and they gives up, looks like it's broken. Maybe I have to manually copy some files?
