Felling & Cutting with the Makita EA6100p Chainsaw (+ Dewalt Flexvolt chainsaw)

Dwain from oztooltalk takes the EA6100p out for the first time.
Having only been using chainsaws for work for around 6 months, I'm still somewhat of an amateur, so please don't watch this video as an instructional!
I really do like the 61cc Makita saw so far though, and have enjoyed the Dewalt Flexvolt chainsaw since I've owned it. I think they're both very good value for money.

You are real game using a chainsaw on KZfaq, everyone will tell you are doing it wrong no matter what. I enjoyed the video, keep up the good work. Hopefully we can see some more saw videos, maybe a 7900 next time

Yeah it get's pretty toxic out there at times huh?! But I'm not claiming to be an expert ;) I'd LOVE to get my hands on a 7900...

Very useful tools chainsaws. You can clear the land and build yourself a house all with one tool. I like my Stihls although they are not a patch on what they once were. One of mine I have owned for nearly 40 years and still works well. I was given a Makita that didn't go. Pulled it apart and fixed it but prefer my Stihls. Built a few Oak barns back in UK using chainsaws to cut the joints. A chain mortice cutter is a brilliant tool.

Stihl still make good saws you just have to be careful what one you get, don't buy the ones with the black handles... We got one (MS 211 or something) and killed it within 2 years of only moderate use.

Good to see "tool and man" doing some real work outdoors. But the hardest part will be dragging the wood home

Bad mamba jamba chainsaw, that ‘DolKita!’ Sharpen that chain mate!! Crikey! 😳🙄 Been waiting for that saw to become available, and it finally showed back up in my cart with Home Depot. This whole Covid mess has everything screwed up, in supply chains, etc. Nice video. You take a few chances and please be careful going forward. Improve your skills, as we ALL need to do! peace! 👍😁✌🏻

it started sharp and dulled as the video went on. It was still cutting fine when I finished. Not big chips, but not dust either.

Nice change to the format. If your new to chainsaws perhaps gloves would be great.

Still sad that they will kill petrol saws/tools in 2022 and with that Dolmar. one of the og chainsaw makers

@@Christoph1888 It's only Makita, not all of the manufacturers, you can still buy a Stihl of Husky petrol saw in 2022
