Amen! Proximity is not fellowship. My wife and I were married for over 20 years working together as building superintendents. We barely saw each other and rarely spoke to each other near the end. A lot of it was the job that expected every moment of our time 24 7. We worked months on end without any time off and that includes lunch breaks or downtime. We had nothing left for each other. We had nothing left for ourselves and we barely had it in us or time to even pray. We were being divided by the enemy in many circumstances. My wife and I were always super close and it was not like us to have any difficulty talking to each other or showing affection. We were so fearful of losing our jobs and not being able to pay the bills. We were so afraid of disappointing our own families and our own parents even. We told everyone everything was ok and we were just busy at work. I decided to try to cheer things up and take my wife out on a date and buy her flowers and show her how much I appreciate her. It was not having the affect I thought it would. She seemed so distant. She could not see me as the person she loved and it was not because she didn't love me anymore. That was what the devil was trying to tell her. She was withdrawing into her own self and thinking she might even have top leave me to get away from the job. We both built resentments and unforgiveness against each other that we did not see. We needed deliverance and God delivered me first and told me to deliver my wife and told me she was going to fight me on it but not to give up no matter what and not to do anything else in my life until we fix our marriage. It took 2 days to hash things out and have a conversation with each other where we both opened up and did not let our upset shut the conversation down. I saw in the past when we would fight it was because we listened to demons telling us to be upset and to feel misunderstood and mistreated and that no matter where we turned everything turned to disaster. Everything was empty and there was no Joy in our lives. Today we live in a state of joy unspeakable. God did that. God showed us both the spouse we fell in love with was still there. We both had to turn our eyes on Jesus and humble ourselves and be delivered form evil and when we did God healed our marriage instantly. I was praying for healing in our marriage and God showed me step by step what to do and it worked 100 percent and then 200 percent and then 1000 percent. We fell in love with Jesus so deeply that we fell more in love with each other than we ever have been at age 50. God let us make up for lost time. In the first 6 months we made love every single day and in the first few weeks it was for hours each day. This is not even humanly possible for younger people. God was putting us closer together again and restoring intimacy and showing us intimacy like we had never experienced before. God wants to bless our marriages. God wants none of us to suffer. Jesus suffered for us already. We were not made to live that way. The promises of God are real and they are guaranteed. Obedience to God comes from loving him. The ability Loving others comes from obeying God. True love is spiritual. Human love is not enough as it is of the flesh but only goes so deep and only stays unconditional to a point. Love is patient and kind and keeps no record of wrongs when it is real love that comes to us from God only. We need fellowship with the Lord first. I knew I had to seek this and that was all I knew at the time. I needed to be closer to him. I need to stay close to him and his love and protection from the enemy and temptation.
