😁 Thanks so much Dave. I'm sure a lot of people think we all have camera men and sound engineers and a whole post production video editing team to make videos.... the reality is just me and my phone 🤣🤣. If I didn't film the build I would have finished it weeks ago. But if it helps anyone with information or saves people some money by being able to do it themselves then I'll take that as a win 😁. Thanks so much for watching Dave 😁👍

Enjoying all your video’s on this shed build, gives me great confidence to build mine, just wondering what make is the staple gun you were using for the membrane of the roof, would you recommend it?
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop 10 ай бұрын
😁 Hi Paresh, thanks so much for watching this series. Its a year on now and the shed is still solid and water tight 😁. The staple gun is a Stanley, I have had it for probably 10 years now and it still never misses a beat (as long as you use good staples), so yes I would highly recommend it 😁. Thanks again for watching 😁👍

I have a question for you, i add a shed to my existing shed which is 8 by 12 feet, and has a flat roof, and even i have done many roofing for myself, but this time by mistake i shingled the flat roof( wrong), now leaks, what do you think i can put on top the shingles maybe i fix the problem with minimum work and cost !?
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop Жыл бұрын
😁 Hi PALANG, obviously I haven't seen what you have done but I DONT think covering over the shingles is a good idea. I think the best option is to remove the shingles and start again. If you just try and cover over the problem it will still be there and it will just cause you further problems. Start again and do a good job and it will save you time and money in the future. it may cost more initially but if you don't fix it you will end up buying a new shed. I hope that helps. And thanks very much for watching 😁👍

Really enjoyed following along with this build frank but why did you not bring the shed a foot further over to give you more room at the rear of the shed?
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop Жыл бұрын
😁 Hi Sandman. I did think about it, but the garden is quite small and we can't really afford to lose another 15 sq ft of the grass. And I still need to put some kind of path or steps in front of the doors. So its all a bit of a compromise 😒. But once I've done the back I won't need to see it again for a few years 😁. Thanks for watching 😁👍

Hey Frank, this might sound stupid, but when you were putting the fascia boards on the sides, how did you work out the angle to cut the two ends at? I'm going to be putting a little log shed up in the spring so trying to get my ducks in row.
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop 5 ай бұрын
😆 Hi ya, I just did a long reply... then realised I didn't even answer your question 😆😆. I would recommend getting a small angle measuring gauge, if your like me and are not a fan of trigonometry then that's your best friend. A simple plum line (a bit of string and a weight) will help you get a vertical line from the apex. So just hold up your facia board, drop your plum line, mark it off. It will be the same angle at the other end. I really hope that helps (because I didn't describe it very well 😆). Good luck and thanks for watching 😁 👍

That is a nice solid looking roof, top job. I’m just re-felting my summerhouse roof, do you just put the bitumen adhesive at the edges where you nail the felt? I watched another video where the guy literally painted it all over his roof before adding the felt 🤔
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop Жыл бұрын
😃 Hi Alice, you can do it either way. But because I used the breathable membrane under the felt there was no reason to coat the entire roof. For me just doing the edges is more than sufficient. I hope that helps 😁. Thanks for watching 😁 👍

Nice vid Frank. Silly question....how are you going to clad the back of the shed? It seems a little too tight to get down there! Is your neighbour the type who'll let you take the fence out to complete it? That seems about the only way.
@frankslittleworkshop
@frankslittleworkshop Жыл бұрын
😁 Well spotted Gaz. I still need to save up for some more material. I have used some of the old cladding from the old shed. I don't think it would be an issue working from there garden, but I should be able to do it from my side (if I loose a few more pounds 🤣😂). But I also have an issue with one of the posts... it is leaning in to my garden. If I can fix that it gives me more room 😁. Thanks for watching Gaz 😁👍

😁 Hi Trevor, its mainly just a replacment for the old shed. But I am going to partition off about 5ft of the left hand side just for project wood storage. Hopefully that will then free up some workspace in my workshop... thats the plan anyway 😁. Thanks for watching 😁👍

2 tips for you, bit late now, 1, but you could use a chalk line, instead ofthe nail scribe, 2, use petrol to clean your hands and tool to get the tar off. Looking good by the way.

😁 Thanks Gary 😁. I did think about getting a chalk line and im sure it would have been perfect for the job. But I don't think I would use it again... not that that would normally stop me buying a new tool 🤣. Great tip with the petrol, but the only petrol i have at home is already mixed for my chainsaw. @@garrypalmer5014 🤔 I have to confess at this point, whenever I use this sealer with a brush. I always use an old cheap brush (from the pound shop) and then just throw it away afterwards. It saves so much clean up time as I always make more mess trying to clean up 🤣🤣👍
