Just finished it. Based on the trailer i thought this would be a trippy horror jrpg but it's actually one of the funniest games i've ever played. Props to the writer, i could have taken a screenshot of every single dialogue window, it just kept surprising me with how outrageously hilarious it was.

It's a banger track. I think the term for this style of music would be 'Synth Punk' (if only because it reminded me of bands like Suicide). I wish I knew what the song's title was. It doesn't seem to be included on the Bandcamp release for the game's soundtrack (which is excellent in its own right).

Game makes money > AAA management at other studios see that thing makes money > push for more of same thing > Do not stray from making anything but bland predictable thing > milk it until death > Lay off studio when it fails. Its been thoroughly enjoyable watching AAA murder itself in recent years while Indie has exploded in quality. Outer Wilds, Star Sector, Signalis, Disco Elysium, the list goes on.

(ALSO I NOTICED ONE OF THE ROTOSCOPED ANIMATIONS FOR THE LONGSWORD IS ROTOSCOPED FROM THE VERMINTIDE 2 BRETONNIAN LONGSWORD FIRST HEAVY ANIMATION AND I LOVE IT SM) edit: small correction it doesnt just use the first heavy from the bretonnian longsword, it seems to use all 3 chain heavy animations in it double edit: also i dont have words to convey how much i adore and am enamored by the soundtrack used in this video, and also just everything abt this game oozes with style and im so excited to finally play it

It’s not from vermintide, it’s a historical technique called a “false edge cut”, both this game and the grail knight draw from historical European martial arts for their animations.

I had no previous knowledge of this project but was instantly captivated by the thumbnail, clicked on it instantly. At best, other new releases of RPG maker games, and just other video games in general have had me saying, "Yeah, I guess that looks pretty cool." But I was SOLD watching this trailer. Whatever this is, WOW does it look exciting. Best of luck as you develop! EDIT: ITS OUT AND I HAD NO CLUE.

Ngl 1:29 we will never get these slow pan shots/ slow zoom out shots this good in video games anymore. Honestly you captured that essence of ps1 graphics very well.
