Please check to be sure there's no leaks and add new caulking on all outside seams as maintenance project from the start. Easier to do preventive maintenance then tearing the siding off and replacing rotting wood. So happy for you after the disaster with that first truck and dishonest person. Now you have your truck camper at last.

I just took my TC off the truck today. For the winter months. Since I live in NE Minnesota. Truck feels naked without it. Had been on the truck since April. All orginal. 1972 El Dorado with a few bumps and bruises but in pretty great shape for the age. No bathroom in it tho but I do have a compost toilet that I made for it. Her name is Mable and the truck, which is white, is Betty White. Lol. Lil Spitfire. Lol. Congratulations on your new TC and may you make so many more memories in it.

The holding tranks are small so you will not get too many showers. You will want to check the toilet after showering before driving as shower water can fill up the bowl and slosh around if you do not flush. The 3 way fridge has to be level at all times while operating because of the gas lines. So be sure to check a couple hours after you are situated that the fridge is cold. Lance makes a nice rig. You at some point may want to swap out the standard faucet (Not that hard to do) with a pull out faucet. Then you can wash your hair in the sink! It may have a outside shower as well. Looks like a nice unit. I know this is a year old and you have probably learned all of this by now. Congrats. You are so enthusiastic. This was a ver positive watch.

Fyi make sure your propane valves are shut off at the tank before you enter a fuel station. Sinse you have a 3 way fridge, you should be good to run on the 12v while driving.

Lance is one of the best campers you can buy. Being 23 years old pay extra attention to the seams especially around the sleeper as over those they have a tendency to leak. Keep ‘em sealed and you should get a lot of good use from it. I have a Runaway Cool Camp and love it but you can’t stand up and people see the camper and say “oh how cute” but it’s only so cute. It gets the job done but it’s just a bed off the ground with AC which works for my needs. I hope that rig gives you plenty of miles of trouble free driving. Has to be better than that Patriot especially if the Patriot had a CVT. Jeep had a lot of trouble with those CVT’s. Good luck

I also bought a used 94 truck camper and remodeled it with some modern upgrades and I must say she not a beauty queen but I love her. You'll get there. If i can give any advice 99% of what you think you need you don't. Weight matters.

Congrats! You shower drains into your black tank so consider a reroute to an outside container...there is a video on the internet on how to do it. Very easy to do as I did on my 2004 "815".

I used to have a Z 71 offroad. I had a 5th wheel with it. I kept it for a year but ended up selling both because I needed a ladder to get into the cab. It wouldn't fit in the garage and in Anchorage AK, you really need to use your garage if you have one! Good luck! New sub here.

Glad I found you guys. You're cute. Good luck with the camper. I have a slide in pop up eight ft. camper on a 6.5 ft box with the tailgate down. It's the narrow sport side box so it's wedged in really tight. Bought it for $ 1,750. Very few options but I can sleep in it and cook in it so I'm OK!

I had one for 10 years. Lived on Washington coast in RV camp. Dug Razor clams in saeson , , walked on beach bare foot and wore my heal stairs.foumd agents on the beach. Winters were off to Quartzite, Arizona where harmer . Stayed at Long Turm BLM because my unit was Self Contained. . Also staid at Roadrunner RV camp. Where I met wonderful people from Pennsylvania , Minnesota, California. We went Gold mining, .lot of Healthy work ,and yes found Gold. Joined Rock club, bought partnership in gold claims, and stayed on claim in camper, went Spanish Class, , and Got Old and couldnt do it anymore.

Just a suggestion. I would get someone to check the tires and wheels to make sure they are rated. The truck didn't look camper ready, so they may be LT tires. For a truck that size to safely carry a camper, you probably should have a 10 ply with G rating. Also, I would be reluctant to have aluminum wheels on a truck carrying a camper. They, at least in Canada, recommend steel. With a higher center of gravity, the tires could roll onto the sidewalls, causing the rim to break on the pavement. I have seen this happen, and also my son works in a tire shop. Just for peace of mind, it may be worth asking someone in the know there.

I live in Texas now (since 2006) and glad you got to experience Whataburger! Patty Melt is the best!

Something to do when possible is install a large rubber mat in your truck bed. They make these for the bottom of horse trailers. Better than 2 by 4s. Their like 3/4 in thick and 4 x 8 ft
