Stan...1983 was a lonnnnng time ago. Why would you discourage someone today with information from 34 years ago??? Shame on you. Janizzle bear...I am a US Navy Reserve Nurse...for the last 21 years. It was one of the best decisions of my life. I have gotten to do things I would have never done as a civilian. I have traveled the world, made a difference, served my country and fellow man...and am so proud of the path the Navy has taken me. I am not saying it is always a bed of roses...But if you've got the desire...Common aboard!

I have a question what if you want to be a physician assistant do the pay for your college tuition while being in the Navy???

This depends on the situation. If you are in the Navy, you may qualify for programs that will send you back to school and pay for your education. For details, you need to speak with a recruiters.
