There is an innocence in their faces and an intelligence in their eyes that is undeniable. From the very first time I had one fly up on to my shoulder and look me in the eye as he was eating out of my hand, I saw this. 7 years later, I still cannot get over what noble creatures they are. They stay together for life, they do an excellent job of raising their children, they're loyal to each other, and they are also natural born comedians. There's not a day that goes by that at least one of them will do something that makes me laugh. When they have water, they get clean and most of them are very beautiful. I only wish that the people who hate them could see their good qualities. I have been able to change a few hearts and minds by just being in the yard, feeding them and talking with people who pass by. I will continue to do this for the rest of my life, because stoping is unthinkable. My little buddies are friends for life.

my male pigeon does the same thing and when Im sick, he never leaves my side, not even to go outside and hang with his friends..they are smart and wonderful companions..your pigeon is beautiful!

Thank you for this. We have sick female pigeon but she's well on the road to recovery. The only thing is she's still a baby and still has her squeaky sound. I'll play this to her as she's familiar with her family sound's. This might help recovery more so she can be free with her flock again.

A couple months ago I had the pleasure and honor to have a female pigeon plop on my front porch, while I was doing yardwork 🤯 She immediately hopped on my finger, shoulder and head! I didn't know what the heck to do at first...! Then after ALOT of research and visits to Avian sanctuaries, vets (she had a messed up beak) luckily, I had birdseed on hand and gave her water and kept her in my small, safe pet carrier. I know she trusts me and knows she's in good 👍 hands! She's such a sweet, funny girl and brings so much joy to my life!!! I used to look at pigeons differently! But NOT anymore! Her name is Cinders and I'm sure she was HEAVEN sent! 🌈✨👼✨🌈

Rescued 14 at same time,all babies not eating by themselves but old enough to eat solid food, 3 unfortunately died due to( i think coccidiosis), bought medicine, hopefully no more will die. Bought heat lamp, 50 kg of sunflower hearts, wheat and mixed pigeon food. Needed some plywood for a house, pp would look at me funny when i told them why i needed the plywood.(went around the streets looking for houses that were being refurbished to ask for leftovers pieces. ) The first two that are the oldest are willing to follow me into of a snake pit, although they didn't like me force feeding them, now not wanting to leave my body and becoming picky eaters wanting me to still feed them although they can eat by themselves. Not even sure which is male or female yet. Not planning of keeping them cuz I'm renting and live in with others, but just till they can fly really well. They are city pigeons, nothing fancy😅 hopefully they will find a place to live and find a mate. The building i rescued them from was being rebuilt adding another floor so the roof had to go, a lot of seagulls close by, one killed a pigeon in 2 sec. The building next to the one i rescued them from also had a guy(hired i guess)that had a hawk (beautiful bird ) but i don't think he went for the pigeons, he was trained to just scare them from nesting on that building, probably getting fed every day, that also was harassed by the seagulls (ruthless mofos😔). I feel bad for pp not growing up around animals, even just farm animals, some haven't even seen a cow or a chicken up close, not to mention they think meat is made in supermarkets from magic dust. Neighbours probably think I'm nuts. I hope they don't call the police on me for ''kidnapping'' pigeons or something 😒🤷. They are really adorable and just a pleasure to watch. Hopefully when i can settle down I'll get a few ... hundreds 😂
