5:07 EXACTLY what I was saying. I accidentally depress that when I switch my grip. When that happens, I have to stop, click up twice to get back to speed 3. They need to redesign this area of all their battery machines IMO. It’s a wonky cumbersome setup. On the KMA 130 R it DOES REQUIRE the operator presence switch to be depressed before you can pull the throttle on. I find it no coincidence that we both had the same gripe with this grip setup.

Just did a large hedge/brush cutting job. Decided to get the KMA 130 R to run one of our many scyth/hedge trimmer attachments on. Man was I impressed with the performance over gasoline.

Good comprehensive review. Hedges are my least favorite as well, but battery is so much nicer than gas for this task. I’ve not known about that spray you put on the blades 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’ll see if it’s stateside.

I like the 66 for lighter stuff. I usually use either the HLA135 or my old gas HL100 for thick stuff. I like the pole hedge trimmers way more than the regular ones

I was impressed with the KMA 130 R. Considering the AR 3000 battery. Even at $1,000+. The smooth torque curve and lightweight of these tools really make a difference IMO

Fab review. How does the hla86 compare with the petrol equivalent - has anyone here used both? Particularly in terms of cutting power and weight? I think both have the same reach and I’m weighing up battery back petrol for our trees which are square box head - hornbeam chestnut square heads at 5m tall with 3m heads

Are these compatible with the bagpack battery stihl makes or just the AP batteries

My only gripe(a very very small one) is that on the KMA 130 R I would often times accidentally depress the preset throttle switch. This would in turn slow the machine down to speed 1. I would have to stop, click up twice again to get back to speed 3. I feel they need to redesign the grip/throttle controls. However I do have very large hands. Maybe it’s just fine for your average hand sized individuals.

Are 2 stroke trimmers outlawed in Denmark?

I wish you could switch between a normal handle and the long ones, cause they are not that practical, on smaller hedges or trimming on single bushes I need to have more control, like with my HS 56 I like to have a battery powered one now that they are as powerful, it even might be easier to achieve a modular system but I guess they like to sell 2 machines.

Does anyone know of a good video that teaches how to do a plunge cut, some call it a bore cut. The how to videos I've found don't explain how to do it they just talk about when to use it. Not how to do it safely.

I wish stihl would stop putting the battery at the bottom. They can fall out which is a. A safety problem and b. Battery cost a lot so breaking one hurts.
