'Femina Miss India 2020' first runner-up Manya Singh narrates her tale of struggle

After winning the runner-up title of 'Femina Miss India 2020', Manya Singh spoke to ABP News correspondent Ravi Jain. She said, "I started working from the age of 14. I used to work in Pizza Hut. The way the interviewer said rickshaw wale ki beti hai, that was so derogatory. As if rickshaw driving is a crime and woh criminal ki beti hai. Why stress so much on rickshaw wala part? Her struggle is inspiring and gwor karne wali baat sirf unki himmat aur confidence hai naki background.

Are yar har chiz ko app log negative me kyun lete hai, wo ye dikhne ki kosish kar rahe hai ki underprivileged log bhi yha tak pahuch sakte. Jo ki har third person belong to lower middle class can't think to participate in Pageant. Bcoz pageants are like Miss India and Diva are very expensive not everyone can afford. She set a great example to the people like many of Us. She didn't depends on her parents. It, s takes 3 to 4 lakh something nearby participate in pageants. I wish she will hold Miss world as well. She is a our pride.

@@anutirkey9068 that's not my point Anu ji. My point is: being underprivileged is not a defect. The intonation of the reporter is derogatory. He is simply trying to sensationalize things. There is a polite way of asking about someone's background. Saying "rickshawwale ki beti" multiple times clearly indicates the reporter's integrity or lack thereof.
