This video cracked me up. How disgusting. However around the world the stigma of periods is not so completely gone as you might believe. I am an American living in Nigeria and here periods are still a cause for shame for many woman, and more significantly can make things like getting an education more difficult. My maid told me about being forced to stay home from school during her cycle because there was no provision at schools for dealing with your period (they couldn't just go to the toilet anytime and the toilets had no place to dispose of sanitary napkins).If a teacher or any classmate saw your blood either because you accidently bled through your uniform or because u tried to hide a used pad, you could get suspended or worse.Meaning she like millions of other girls around the world would consistently miss school each month Many Nigerians believe menstruating woman should not be touched as they are considered 'dirty'. Some Christian churches and most Islamic Mosques will also not allow women to worship or touch holy texts while they are on their cycle. These issues are not specific to Nigeria but can be seen in various forms and degrees around the world. I think we are very lucky in the US, UK, Australia not to face that level of stigmatization because of our periods. We can wear tampons while in many other cultures woman cannot without fear of being labeled a slut or facing claims that she is not a virgin. We enjoy the freedom to swim and remain active while countless other woman live much more restrictively. Painting with period blood grosses me out big time but I think reminding women that we should not feel shamed by our natural cycles is an important message to keep alive and something some we should not take for granted.

It’s not just guys who find menstrual blood revolting. Most women don’t care for it much either. I don’t see women lining up to finger paint with human excrement these ‘women’ are not normal. This is not feminism this is just revolting.
