I had 2 expensive Angus bulls, 1 red 1 black. Only semen sample they passed was the first @ yearling test. I used the black one until he was 12 and the red 1 until he was 7 or 8. I'd put them out the first cycle 22 days then put pulled out and put in a different 1 when I mixed 2 pastures together. If I had 30 cows or heifers with each 8 got minimum 24 caught on the first cycle as high as 29 from the black. I paid over 4 grand for each back in the late 80's, tried to freese semen after breeding season, before breeding season and never a viable sample yet I had lots of calves and very fertile females with lots of milk.
