**editorial note ._. it has been brought to my attention that although the ab165 circuit was originally introduced in a Blackface chassis, it was not Pre-CBS. that was a mistake of me assuming the switch to Silverface chassis was the primary indicator of the end of the Pre-CBS era, when actually there was some overlap. oops!

well no, but not for the reasons you think! It's not my only SG because it's no longer my SG haha. But yeah, it was actually my only electric guitar before i sold it, save for a disassembled strat in the corner of my living room waiting on a new nut

CBS took over operations of all Fender sites by Mid year 65 , I know this because I work on Fender amps , over 25 years now of repairing Fender amps . AB 165 was a 50 watt design , there was 4 of the 50 watt designs ,, I forget what they call the board layout you have, but it can't be a AA165 or AB165 , Look for the schematic for the 100watt versions they made . It will tell you the revision on the schematic

Are you suggesting this is one of the 100 watt versions? You may well be right sky CBS and I think you are Leo still helped CBS with guidance until the late 70s I believe. And I don't think until sometime in 67 or 68 fender actually changed anything circuit wise in the circuits.
