Yes the BillM mods completely transform the early Blues Juniors. The amp in this video also had the low profile output transformer Bill and Allen amplifiers designed. That’s what put it over the edge to really great sound. I did all the mods first and was pleased, then I ordered the transformer and Cannibas Rex speaker and it was bliss. Didn’t take long to sell it. I’ve never really used a Blues Junior with the guitar volume control. The breakup on the amps isn’t great. Get a good clean/almost break up sound then hit it with a mild overdrive. The output transformer makes a significant difference. They are bright amps even after modifying certain caps and values. C3 is a bright cap and I haven’t tried removing that on an amp to see how it improves. I have seven more Blues Juniors I’ll be selling. From the factory they are okay sounding but have bad bias, plastic input jack and terrible filter caps.
