I must admit. I did not see that coming. First I compliment you on your impeccable taste with the classic color, guard, and maple neck combination. One of my absolute favorites. I enjoy the VLOGs. Somehow the informality makes it seem more personal. Looking forward to your content in 2021. Keep up the good work.

The 12th fret harmonic will always be in perfect tune with the open string. I'm surprised you didn't mention this. I'm also surprised you didn't compare the harmonic pitch to the fretted pitch - as you're trying to get the exact same pitch - rather than to one an octave apart with the open string. I was watching with furrowed brow, thinking "Why doesn't he....." - "I know he knows that".

I really enjoyed this vlog. I did not see the Start with noiseless pickups in the bag. You really surprised me with that one. I wish lunch was at noon. I go either at 11:30 or 12:00 but never noon. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to all the new content in 2021. Stay safe and Be Blessed.

If your fretted note at 12 th fret is sharp, then you need to adjust the intonation by moving the saddle further away from the nut.

I have a '14 MiM Deluxe Roadhouse Strat, and it has so many tonal options to make it as skinny or fat sounding as you want. Now, I upgraded it some to include a Bladerunner bridge, staggered locking tuners, and TusqXL nut. Since I'm a marijuana patient, I also changed out the pickguard and backplate with hemp leaves on it. Looks great against the red body/maple neck. Plays like a dream. I love it, its my #1 axe for most of my recording/gigging.

The fret ends on my Indio Goldtop came pretty much perfect. They're rounded off and polished. Intonation was set perfect. Action was awesome. It couldn't have been, set up any better. All that on a $249 guitar because each one is set up by a professional luthier before they're shipped.

Back in 2016 I bought a 2015 Deluxe Roadhouse Strat loaded body in Sonic Blue from The Stratosphere. It's very different from the one you have there. It has a normal heel, six screw bridge, Texas Special pickups. Still has the six position tone knob and the S1 switch. I had a Warmoth 10-16 compound radius neck on it but the G string was very loud because of vintage stagger. I just put a Fender Player neck on it with a Pau Ferro fingerboard which is straight 9.5 like the original. Got the neck from The Stratosphere and it was made on 11/04/2020.

Who sets intonation without checking the fretted note? That is the whole point. Confused of England....

Interesting concept, this should prove to be a good backdrop to your projects and give people a little behind the scenes feel like you said. The history of your dad's and your electronics background was super cool! Whether someone considers it nerdy or not, the world would be a very different place without the people who really expand the boundaries of electronics. I've never been good at it, but it's interesting how a small change in a component can either make a big difference in sound, or none at all depending on the values, placement, etc. Pedal builders are a good example of using subtle component changes to make cool tonal variations possible.

I’m thinking about getting one of those strats just because it has a battery box - I wanna put emgs in it. I guess I could alternatively buy a plain mim strat and route it out, but idkkk

Dammit it's SUPPOSED to be NGD but fedex sent my new strat 2000 miles the wrong direction. "Guaranteed delivery" on Jan 8, and I'm in Seattle and it's in MN.

hello there great channel , you know i just get this fender roadhouse, with 09 gauge is kinda hard to play and i put the 08 gauge but i cant do a bend on 2 and 3 string without get out of tune, this tremolo is imposible to maintain the tunning even without usig the tremolo, any advice? thanks

Regarding 9:23 the harmonic is perfectly the same pitch as the open string, no? I almost missed the point that you ARE saying to FRET the note for intonation and NOT use the harmonic. As you go on it sounds like you're preferring the harmonic. I just cranked my e-string saddle 3 screw rotations back and the fretted pitch obviously goes way flat, but the 12th fret harmonic is still perfectly the same as open string. The point of intonation is to make the fretted pitch work with open strings and across the fretboard. If you're sharp on fretting, you're not intonated right. So yea, fret the note. Don't use harmonic.

Are there people stupid enough to believe they can intonate without fretting a note? Really? Well, yes, I guess they are guitar players, so… Of course, comparing the fretted note to the 12th fret harmonic or to the open string makes no difference. The harmonic will always be an exact octave higher.
